The Soviets have retreated and taken up defensive positions and I simply can't dig them out. So I railed the 1st and 2nd Tank Divisions with the goal of doing something in China.

Instead, they have sat in the city training for what I don't know.

In a normal game they would be in Burma/India now along with several other infantry divisions. Instead the Allied forces in Indochina/Thailand/Malaya outnumber Japan at least 3-1 and with a huge advantage in tanks, artillery, and AA.

A decent force of cruisers and destroyers are here...isolated.

The cruisers actually fought a winning slugfest a while back outside of Singapore, and actually won but retreated to the north up the straits even though they came from the east.

So here they are, wallowing.

Actually pretty strong here, with rebuilt units spawning here and pretty much staying here.

Almost all PP spent went to taking back Sakhalin and stabilizing Manchuko. I managed to buy out a brigade and ship it to Hanoi just this past week the very first PP high AV troops sent west I believe.

It looks like a tower hit destroyed all communication arrays. All combatants are considered MIA. :[
And at the home front the people are suffering in fear of what happened to their heroes and due to the lack of updates.

After a summer vacation by the Allies, and a little minor surgery for me, we are back....

A Japanese training cruiser sorties by herself...she startles a troop convoy unloading, but doesn't engage, and then finds this force...but manages to escape after only four shell hits.

Katori then finds the earlier troop convoy and puts a few shells into it...

When I put these two engineering units into SR mode, I also gave them a destination. Now, however, I have transports ready to take them away...but they cannot be loaded until I remove the destination from said units.

Game does this with any kind of movement vs loading/airtransport conflict. Nice thing to have so that you not accidentally split a unit

I am so missing my fix... Just saying [:D] This is one of the AARs that I follow. Also, thanks for doing the AAR - it's been so fun to read/watch and be a part of your peanut gallery.

Sorry, had some medical work and being on the computer for more than a half hour hasn't been all that pleasant. I believe I have flipped a two turns with no report...back to the war.

ABDA pincers moving on both Saigon and Cam Ranh Bay in strength....

Yamoto is approaching Cam Ranh Bay, while the Allied fleets are just a little west of Saigon.

ABDA push really outnumbers Japan's defenders. 176 AV at Saigon, and 100 at Cam Ranh Bay...Allies have 400 at Cam Ranh Bay including tanks.

Japan has almost no AT capability here...but three rapid fire AT gun units are unloading at Haiphong along with a Tank Regiment.

Lightnings sweep Cam Ranh Bay and do very well.

Not good...I will most likely use 4 battleships to bombard the Allied troops here, but my experience is that Japanese ships bombarding Allies in decent non-base terrain fails big time. My cruiser bombardments over the last two days definitely was very poor.

But using the ships to bombard, I will then have to run back to Samah...
