This is a question for Andrew - when I was working on the CHS leaders project, the data that I passed to you & El Cid, how much of those leaders & pilots will make/made it in? And can you expand on the added changes to leader ratings as well as get an added screenshot even if it's some kind of early beta version so that we might see it?

In general, we decided to go back to stock to start building the AE campaign scenario. One reason we didn't use CHS was that there have been a LOT of contributions by many people over the life of CHS, and we can't be sure who contributed what. Given that AE is a commercial product I don't think that it is OK for us to just use the data in CHS without specific permission from the relevant contributor(s).

Having said that some of the people working on AE were also CHS contributors, so there is nothing stopping them from using their own additions to CHS (or any other mod).

Also - if you would like to see your work considered for AE, I suggest contacting the relevant person (land, air or naval team depending on the leader types) directly, and ask whether they are interested in looking at the data. I can only speak for myself but I am happy to look at any information provided via this forum. There are a LOT of knowledgeable people here - a lot more knowledgeable than I am, that is for sure.

Joe can correct me if my views are not aligned with the official AE ones.

Andrew

Thanks Andrew, I've no qualms about what I put in being used at all or even changed so you have my permission to use it [:'(]

I just hated to see all that work put in in getting correct leaders in the right spot instead of some John Doe in command of the PH BB's along with ratings of Brit being looked into.

I did the review of the Brit leaders and am happy to recieve any other opinions (not my area) but I also reviewed the Admirals mostly increasing aggression ratings (hard not to Swordfish agianst KB now thats what you call aggression - or something)

If I get around to it I will list a posting of all the higher Brit leaders after my amendments with stats just to foster some debate [:D][:D][:D]

Not sure if this has been asked yet,
Using the editor, will we be able to set the start date earlier that Dec 7, 1941 for mods?

I wish to have corrected some dates when ships arrived in the teathre. Mainly for the US ships i have find (on wikipedia) many actual days when the ships passed Panama canal (also mentioning some other ships passing with them). I think it will be a little worse for the british ships.

AKDreemer did a spreadsheet on most USN LSTs - it is probably posted on his site - and I can send you a copy -
a vast undertaking - just entering the data took a gigantic amount of time. He worked out when ships entered the theater - almost every one via Panama as they were built on the other side.

AE is going to be absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!! I can't wait to purchase my copy. But don't feel like you have to rush. I don't want AE to be released until everything is ready to go. [8D]

Excuse me while I do my victory dance now.

Hi jwilkerson,

I'd guess that ya'll are doing some game testing with AE? I was just wondering if some of the testers could post in the AAR section when they are testing out AE... Man, I can hardly wait for summer...[:)]

Many players find it desirable to play multi-day turns. Would it be possible to combine combat into one round for a multi day turn and in general enhance multi day turn playability?

Well maybe I'm not sure what pmath means here. I mean we do have multi-day turns already and they work great already in stock, some of us (like me) pretty much only play 2-day turns!

Once we get the OOBs finished we will try to start up some public AARs.
