Congrats on getting those BB's to port. I thought you would lose at least one, now they may be a tempting bait so that your TB's can get a shot [:)].

I think two will still sink unfortunately. The TBs have proved to be completely ineffective, which is why the US Navy is sending DDs to Balikpapan. Even when my Dreadnoughts arrive in theatre, I think the big difference in crew experience will mean the USN remains at a disadvantage...

I've had luck with my TBs, but only against big slow BBs or transports. DDs just make my TBs more dangerous... they go to pieces so fast people get hit by the splinters[X(]

CenPac

117th USN Base Force, which has been prepping for Wake, has moved to Hawaii Command and is loading at Mare Island for PH.

DEI/CBI

Martin's ships are no longer at Tarakan, so SOPAC force wil head for Balikpapan instead. At Balikpapan De Ruyter and Hertog Hendrik have damage of 65/84 and 82/81 respectively. De Zeven Provincien is heading for Soerabaya and is 51/61.

USS New Orleans has arrived at Singapore and is sailing for Guard Ship duties at Batavia, just in case Martin decides to hit the Dutch in the North while I am concentrating on Southern Borneo.

I am pulling 1st Chinese Cavalry Corps back to Jehol. I was thinking of just letting them bombard Martin's unit to build up experience, but they are vulnerable to a flanking movement where they are and I cannot afford to lose them. SS R-19 has refuelled at Canton and is heading to patrol off the Pescadores.

2 Empire AKs were taken in hand to be converted to AR at Mare Island. I could not remember if I had already converted any...

At PH ML Baltimore and 3 DMs sailed to lay a new minefield at Midway.

Here is a screenie of some of the overnight action showing the damage reported on BB Mishiwa.

There is nothing happening on the West Coast or in CenPac.

2 USN DDs that escorted the DMs that mined Balikpapan have joined up with the four remaining Dutch TBs on patrol off Balikpapan. BB De Ruyter has sunk and Hertog Hendrik is not far behind at 82/90. De Zeven Provincien is 51/68 and three hexes from Soerabaya and I hope eventual safety.

My four subs present at Tarakan do not report the force that sank the PGs being present. I am guessing that they arrived to pick up some of the troops at Tarakan for use elsewhere. SOPAC force will head for Tarakan to attempt to intercept. The mixed capabilities of the SOPAC force will potentially cause problems, but Martin's covering force is tied to a convoy.

S-7 is 6/62 at Takao and is making for Canton. S-14 (still 2 sys damage) is sailing from Singapore to take her place. R-14 and R-19 have also diverted to Takao.

The Chinese Cruiser force has disbanded at Canton. They will not be fit to fight for a while. DD Pope is 33/0/0 and is heading for Singapore for repairs. DD Barker is three hexes off Laoag with damage of 99/88/11. When I attempted to scuttle her the game crashed (twice!), so I'll have to leave her to sink.

I was a little depressed at the loss of a Dutch BB, with another soon to join her. I cheered myself up by looking at the Jap BB that went down after the same battle...

The SOPAC force stalled! [:@]Grrrrr! I hope this particular bug is worked out for AE! They are heading to join up with the forces at Balikpapan instead.

Hertog Hendrik sank. De Zeven Provincien is 51/78 and is 1 hex out from Soerabaya.

A repaired USN DD is cruising from Diamond Harbour to Balikpapan. A similar vessel is cruising from Singapore to Canton. R-18 sailed from Canton to patrol off the Pescadores. DD Barker is now 99/95/4 and I did not try to scuttle her again after last turns crashes. S-7 is now 6/56 and creeping towards Canton.

Here are my damaged ships at Canton. The DD will ship out for repair next turn.

No piccies until Matrix get the servers migrated I'm afraid...

Ninth Corps and Ninth Corps Hawaii

New LCUs have arrived. 2 Tank units are heading from San Diego to Mare Island and a Coastal Arty unit is moving there from LA. The AEF HQ unit is loading for an eventual Wake operation and a SOPAC HQ and Artillery units are also loading for the DEI.

DEI/PI/South China

The SOPAC force has arrived at Balikpapan and is forming a second surface force to defend the port. The 4 Dutch TBs and 2 US DDs will stay formed up as a light force. De Zeven Provincien is 51/79 in Soerabaya.

DD Alden (sys 18) left Canton for repairs in Singapore. I really miss PBYs - I haven't got a clue where Martin's ships are...
