Unfortunately no. The cost for translation is very high. On another project I am working on, translation to French is 18 cents a word. I can't recall how many words we have but at 628 pages It is probably around 350K. So it would cost about $60,000 to translate, and compared to our sales - sorry, but no.

How does book 1 end? Is it a relatively self contained novel or does it lead strongly into the subsequent books?
I've been thinking about buying for some time - but between limited time to read and not really wanting to get stuck on a cliff hanger for years haven't made the leap just yet!

I think you can take it both ways. As a single novel it ends leaving you questioning a bunch of things. As a cliffhanger, you are hooked, and the first scene in Limit of Advance steps directly from one book to the next.

The Nordkapp Affair is much more self contained and is a lot shorter.

Working on another short novel as we chug away at Limit of Advance. The Battle of Bear Island hasn't been announced yet, but... you heard it here first folks...

Sales for Nordkapp are pretty sluggish so it's not likely. There needs to be a decent economic case, and it's just not there... yet.

On this note, Amazon is offering an AI voice audiobook option. The voices are actually pretty good. I'll try and figure out a quick poll to see what you guys think.

1. An Amazon provided AI voice audiobook - Yes?
2. I prefer a real voice - No?
3. I want to see voice actors continue to be employed and not be eaten up by the machine - Hell NO!

Normally I prefer real voices but for something as niche as this I would be ok with an AI voice(s).

Joel and I have had a heart-to-heart chat on this one, and we are in the 'Hell NO' category. The real deciding point is figuring out how to tell the voice actor who did H-Hr that we went for AI. It is one thing if we found a better voice (real), but he put in some decent investment in a sound booth etc. So we're going to let this one slide and reconsider when we get to book 2.

And to forestall any questions, Book 2 Limit of Advance is still in process. Going slowly, but its a big job

Fwiw, checking on Amazon under "Northern Fury" it shows as book 1 of 1. I had no idea that a small novella (Nordkapp) had been released and was available. Nor does the NF page hint that another full-size book is in the offing.

Not sure how to fix that, but thought I'd share my experience.
