Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Axis #7. The Eastern Front. USSR Include Notionals?

To include or not to include the notionals? In the end the USSR considered the risk of a breakthrough too great to include the notionals against the German paradrop. So no notionals and the paratroopers land unopposed. A breakthrough in an adjacent hex ensures that the Wehrmacht quickly links up with (i.e., stacks with) the paratroopers.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. End of Turn. Destroyed.

Clearly, there was a significant consequence to stuffing the border. Well, at least the way I did it for the Soviets.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. End of Turn. Partisans & USE.

Partisan: 8 countries check for partisans with no garrison checks triggered. (1) China=93, (2) Malaya=21, (3) NEI=13, (4) Burma=35, (5) India=46, (6) Poland=66, (7) Yugoslavia=52, (8) FIC=20. Only close calls were Yugoslavia, which missed by 1 or is it 2 and NEI which missed by 2 or is it 3.

US Entry: Before chit. Ge/It: 35/22 & Jpn: 40/21. US decides to add chit to Ge/It. Val=4 => GE/IT: 41/22 & JPN: 42/21. US chooses: (1) option 26, "Relocate fleet to Pearl Harbor". Jpn Tension D10(<=6)=10, no (additional) tension. (2) option 19, "Resources to USSR". Ge/It Tension (<=8)=5, 4-chit moved to tension. Ge/It: 35/28, JPN: 40/23. (3) option 23, "Freeze Japanese assets". JPN Tension (<=7)=1, 4-chit moved to tension. Ge/IT: 33/30, JPN: 34/29. The US will need now to show US entry option displine. They're on the optimum tension row (24-31) to maximize chance of successful DOW against both German & Japan PROVIDED they can get entry levels of 44 or above. The US will forgo additional entry options in order to drive up DOW success.

AAR Narrative Shift?

Not sure how much of a narrative shift this is but I've decided to let the narrative for this AAR flow primarily through my combat logs. Hence, the rationale I spent the last 3 or 4 days working to finish off a consolidated combat log format and import the three different logs (naval, land & air) into that new format.

I do, when I remember, run spell check on these logs. However, I generally don't review and correct the logs for grammatical or other errors. Though, I will correct such errors if I happen to "randomly" run across them. These logs are made at the moment of the combats they are capturing. My intention is to try to let you in on the bits and pieces of my thinking at those times and not worry so much about grammar or even spelling. I do hope that you can overlook such errors, which may be many, in the spirit of the narrative I'm attempting to produce.
