Campaign Series: Vietnam is a new turn-based, tactical/operational war game that focuses on the Indochina War, Vietnam Civil War and the first years of US involvement in Vietnam with over 100 historical scenarios.
Operation Bribie, the two-day Battle of Ap My An, was fought in Phước Tuy Province between the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment and the VC, reinforced by PAVN regulars.

Operation DOUBLE EAGLE /LIEN KET 22 kicks off. Task Force Delta, consisting of 2/4, 3/1, 2/9 Marines and the SLF BLT 2/3, will join the 4th ARVN Regiment (2nd Division) in this operation. BLT 3/1 from the Philippines and BLT 2/4 from the Chu Lai TAOR will conduct an amphibious assault over RED Beach north of Duc Pho in Quang Ngai Province and then the combined forces will sweep the area of operations between Mo Duc, Ba To and Tam Quan, coordinating with allied forces from Operation MASHER in Binh Dinh Province.

Operation ROLLING STONE/4-66 begins. The 1 Brigade, 1st Infantry Division with 1RAR opconed will conduct a search and destroy operation to provide security for the 1st Engineer Battalion's road construction between Lai Khe and Phuoc Vinh in Binh Duong Province.

ARVN units launch six-day Operation THANG LONG 234 in Darlac Province.
The PRC consulate in Phong Saly, Laos, was heavily strafed by gunfire and the Beijing government charged that four American fighter jets had attacked "with more than 600 bullets", as well as dropping eight bombs to the east of the city, 20 miles (32 km) from the border with China.
Second Lieutenant Carol Ann Drazba and Second Lieutenant Elizabeth Ann Jones were among seven killed in a helicopter crash northeast of Tan Son Nhut Air Base. They were the first of eight women in the U.S. military killed in Vietnam.

Operation DOUBLE EAGLE II kicks off. TF Delta (3/1, 2/7, 2/9 Marines and SLF 2/3) will move 50 miles to the north and conduct a search & destroy operation between Tam Ky, Tien Phuoc and My Son, the 1st VC Regiment has been reported in the area.
Colonel Phạm Ngọc Thảo and General Lam Van Phat mounted a coup d'état to overthrow General Khánh, head of the Armed Forces Council. The coup failed but the instability forced Khanh from power. North Vietnam later revealed that Thao was a communist agent. The coup collapsed when the U.S., in collaboration with Generals Nguyễn Chánh Thi and Cao Văn Viên, assembled units hostile to both Khanh and the current coup into a Capital Liberation Force. Saigon was recaptured "without a shot" the next day by loyal troops and Khanh was restored to power.

Operation Double Eagle II was conducted by the BLT 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines and 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines in the Quế Sơn Valley. The 11-day operation resulted in 125 VC killed and ten captured for the loss of 6 Marines killed.

Operation Mastiff was conducted by the U.S. 1st Infantry Division in Dầu Tiếng District against the PAVN 9th Division. The operation resulted in 61 PAVN and 17 U.S. killed.

Operation MASTIFF will be launched in the Boi Loi Woods by the 2d and 3d Brigades, 1st Infantry Division to prevent an attack on Dau Tieng, the 9th VC Division has been reported in the area.
Representatives of the Bình Xuyên, a well-armed mafia controlling gambling, narcotics, the Saigon police force and the Cao Đài and Hòa Hảo religious sects agreed to form a United Front against the Diệm government. The Bình Xuyên, under Bảy Viễn, set up defenses around their headquarters in Saigon.
