I am having extraordinarily vivid dreams. I think it's this virus thing. I had a dream I was driving parallel to a another highway near dusk and the silhouettes of large trees lining the highway were slowly passing by, mostly eucalyptus in sepia colors with a lighter dusk sky behind. Went on forever. Very peaceful and beautiful. Looked like Santa Barbara or maybe Salinas.

Anxiety dreams too. One where I was taking a shower at like a camp shower outdoors with 3 women, and one guy nagging at me to get ready for dinner. I have no idea what that means. Probably the Jap carriers again.

I put the comma in that you forgot. So why would you bother getting ready for dinner when you are showering with three women? [&:]

Well, I was imprecise.... they were outside the shower all dressed up already.

I once got Delhi Belly in a shopping centre in Chennai. I discovered that the public toilets don't have bog roll. Just a bucket and a tap (fawcett?). No flush either. I worked this out after my activities. I also discovered that I can wash my backside with my hand perfectly well when needs must.

Now you know to bring important papers with you when you travel.

the issue here is the grocery stores. I went to pickup a couple of things on Tuesday and no big deal. Now I am being told there are fights over food. I normally do my main shopping Sunday morning when I get off of work. I am not looking forward to it tomorrow. I have enough food and other supplies for about three weeks but I would like some fresh stuff. I bet the "Preppers" are enjoying getting the last laugh.

Then you have the local health departments. Even in good times, you tend not to attract the brightest bulbs to county health departments but they seemed DELIBERATELY stupid. When they still offered the PRETENSE of containment they would refuse all testing even whole families with high fevers and travel to Pakistan, for eg. Why would you not test? It's the ABSOLUTE ESSENTIAL F****** KEY to isolation and containment.

I now realize they had already given up on containment because they lacked adequate and timely testing and had now switched over to "flattening the curve" but didn't have the f****** stones to admit it. I had it hear it from f******* Governor Newsom who publicly complained there were only 500 kits in all of California.[X(]

He stood there with his fabulously hair-sprayed helmet head and spilled the beans before somebody got to him and told him to shut up

On Thursday, the UK prime minister's briefing suggested that there are 10 times as many COVID-19 cases in the UK than have been discovered.

I am genuinely surprised by the change in response from the government compared to other issues recently. Particularly...

- Seemingly being honest
- Deferring to experts
- Not necessarily following what other countries are doing

That's not to say it's great here. Just much more adult than I expected. Ten years of underfunding the NHS won't help.

BBC news just announced that UK deaths from this bug doubled in one day! I don't know how that could be other than post-mortem testing revealing cases that were not previously diagnosed. (Or maybe lack of access to respirators?). Scary stuff no matter how it came about.

When someone states that it doubled in one day and does not provide numbers, that is difficult to use. From 1 to 2 is doubling but so is 1,000 to 2,000. There is a big difference when you look at those numbers. Also, what are the co-morbidity factors. Here is an excellent article on the Flu in Canada from 2012:

When someone states that it doubled in one day and does not provide numbers, that is difficult to use. From 1 to 2 is doubling but so is 1,000 to 2,000. I'm no expert on public health. One day of reading news articles does not equate to three years of university education. Nevertheless, I do know that people die every day in the UK.

My mum used to be a hospital nurse. She used to say folk had "cold tea syndrome" when they passed away in hospital.
