I must confess I gave up after about three episodes of Season 1. Too weird for me, didn't seem to be much about the Romans but a lot about Druids or something. I also got annoyed at the bloke and the girl who were on the road to somewhere or other for some reason and just thought that was a weak copy of The Hound and Arya. Plus as someone said, the more Mackenzie Crook is made up to look like someone else, the more he looks like Mackenzie Crook.

That's a fair call - I notice in the programme guides they have given up trying to label it beyond a "historical fantasy" -whatever that means. They are concentrating on the Druids a lot - that easy for the writers as there is not much truly known about the druids. The actress who plays "Cait' though is pretty good though.

Just finished watching the second series of The Sinner. I've enjoyed both series - they are very watchable, well acted and scripted. Bill Pullman is a good actor too.

The Witcher.

I like it, and it is very faithful both to the books and the videogames. After two episodes I'm intrigued.
However, right now is (IMHO, of course) a good fantasy show. It still lacks that "je ne sais quoi" that elevated Game of Thrones to cult status almost immediately (before crashing and burning in the finale). Time will tell.

Unbelievable, super cool, outrageous and amazing
Phenomenal, fantastic, so incredible, woo-hoo!
Unbelievable, super cool, outrageous and amazing
Phenomenal, fantastic, so incredible, woo-hoo!
We gotta bring both sides together
Like champagne and leather
Like birds are with feather, we'll fly
Like rain on a sunny day
Like a million dollars that you're givin' away
Like a stray dog on the freeway, we'll fly
'Cause we're all like a team
Livin' inside a dream
You and me doin' our thing
And we'll fly, woo-hoo
Unbelievable, super cool, outrageous and amazing
Phenomenal, fantastic, so incredible, woo-hoo!
Unbelievable, super cool, outrageous and amazing
Phenomenal, fantastic, so incredible, woo-hoo!
It's the credits, yeah that's the best part
When the movie ends and the reading starts
You can keep your adventure and all that action
'Cause the credits of the film are the main attraction
And don't even think about tryna leave
Or you might miss a name like Pam and Steve
Both incredible names so let's stay in our seats
And read incredible lists of their incredible feats
'Cause we're all like a team
Livin' inside a dream
You and me doin' our thing
And we'll fly, woo-hoo
Unbelievable, super cool, outrageous and amazing
Phenomenal, fantastic, so incredible, woo-hoo!
Unbelievable, super cool, outrageous and amazing
Phenomenal, fantastic, so incredible, woo-hoo!
And we're back, and still lovin' the credits
Can't wait to see the one about the person who edits
And even better than that is who edits the credits
I bet I'll never forget 'cause once I read it then I'm ready
I roll into the theater about 90 minutes late
Skip the whole dang movie 'cause the credits are great
Now if you're gonna be featured on a movie song
The credits is the part that you wanna be on
Unbelievable, super cool, outrageous and amazing
Phenomenal, fantastic, so incredible, woo-hoo!
Everything is super cool right now
Everything is awesome here right now
Everything is super cool right now
Everything is awesome here right now

I have bought it, but I need a good stretch of time to devote myself to the game. A friend of mine is similarly "Witcher obsessed": he played the TW3 two times, read all the books and watched all the episodes in a couple of days. I'm now officially curious to discover what all the brouhaha is about. [8D]

I watched an interesting documentary on the making of the wonderful Hamilton musical.
Hamilton: One Shot to Broadway is well worth a peek if you like the show.
Lin Manuel Miranda - clever guy....

"Cromwell's Head" -a documentary about the travails of the Lord Protector's remains after his death. Not really seasonal viewing but appealing for that reason. It also examines the changing views of Cromwell's legacy in the time from his death to the current day.

Dr Who Series 12 Episode 1 airs this evening.
Also, just started my 30 days free subscription to BritBox. They have just taken delivery of all the classic series of Dr Who. That's 600+ episodes of Whovian goodness which I haven't seen for a very, very long time.
Noticed they also have Lambs of God on BritBox. This intrigues me so I will give it a watch but has anyone seen this series?
Best wishes,
Steve

I think I would disappear from all social interaction for several months if I had that lot available to watch [;)]

Must say the BBC's version of Dracula is far better than their version of War of the Worlds, I mean its completly bonkers but enjoyably bonkers.

Speaking of the BBC, I watched a very thought provoking documentary about the BBC, "Incontrovertible." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5UyynjxAyw
In February 2013 the documentary maker Tony Rooke contested the BBC licence fee in court under Article 3, Section 15 of the Terrorism Act 2000 on the basis that the BBC were complicit in the 9/11 cover-up and had deliberately misled the public in their broadcasting. Tony was given the opportunity to demonstrate to the judge that the BBC had quite deliberately lied to the British public about the events of that day, in particular their 'Conspiracy Files' programme. The fact that the BBC had foreknowledge and had reported on the collapse of WTC7 20 minutes before it happened formed the basis for his case that the licence was not appropriate. Tony was not fined and was allowed to walk away on a conditional discharge.
