The Soviets divert to the west along the river to Taonan...action here is heavy with massive Soviet artillery spearpoints.

The supply drain is enormous.

On this full front war, Japan cannot hope to create a reversal.

The reversal has seemingly to come on and from the sea....winning a decisive aircarft carriers for example, before it's too late;

then, who knows;

problem is fuel, how can you d without, Obvert has inferted the mortal blow seizing Borneo...still, if naval supremacy is achieved, then maube maybe we could still hope and dream;

the only potential Allied Achilles' Tendon is that IF your really regain dominance in the china sea as auspiced, then all of his overextended land units shall be at great risk;

with possibility to cut of big armies, im Malay, in Indochina; maybe...

Dream man dream, keep dreamin'!

great effort, great war;

Thanks for the kind words, but the Allies don't really need to push in the China Sea...their land forces are victorious from the North Pacific (soon linking Alaska to Soviets) across Manchuko, China, Burma, Indochina, Thailand and the far west. I doubt I can keep Borneo much longer.

I have nothing to stop the Soviet tank divisions to the north, about a dozen bases are below their support limit in a vain attempt to stem the combined Allied/Soviet offensive.

Allies have used their beasts excellently. They strike China heavily, Bering Island, and Indochina.

The second engagement, a third follows in the morning with a CL force that is doing the bombardments of Miri and Brunei...Beasts strike Brunei along with the bombardment, burning up three large AO loading fuel....no good news here.

The Chinese Front...already the Chinese have pierced the lines in the southern center, and there is nothing to stop them.

In my naivete, I didn't think the Chinese and Soviets would join forces to such a degree, and add the British and American AF in the northern China battlefield it is simply a hammerblow.

To be fair, the combined Allied forces have such an advantage in numbers they where sure to pierce the defensive somewhere.

China is honestly the worst theatre in-game for Japan to defend in. If the Japanese aren't immediately able to press their advantage against the Chinese to push them back and the Chinese get outside help, it's an impossible front.

It's just such a porous front, even without the Soviets, and completely devoid of good defensive terrain. Not a single good place to dig in between Singyang, Peiping and Tsingtao. No good terrain for a forward defense of Shanghai. The big urban centres are isolated from each other so you can't anchor a defensive line in an urban hex. It's just all round horrible.

Any plans to drawback those frontlines?

I haven't had to do it yet, but in prosecuting an offensive through there... I disagree that there are no places to defend outside of the urban centers.

There are broad, open & indefensible areas to be sure... but there are other points where delays can be produced.

Also, the Chinese should be still brittle on the supply/unit quality front here. I'm just not sure it matters whether those forces marching southeast stall out or not.

I am going to try as little as possible, I need the resource production from them badly. If the Soviet/Chinese push to the north wins, then a general retreat will have to be sounded.

China is getting supply from the Soviets, plus the Burma road has been open for a month or more.

+1

Hence the strategy to take CHI out of the war early … because later you have to deal with them and they are very hard to deal with against a competent opponent.
