can someone past me the links where I could directly download this standardized artwork set for ships?
those Accurate air is also a standardized artwork set?
im playing BigB mod, so i would like to have compatible art sets [:D]

If you are playing the stock game, you can download the stock ship art from Spooky's at http://mathubert.free.fr Search for "Standard Art Files - Japanese" and "Standard Art Files - Allied". They are close to the top under 02/28/07 and 02/13/07, respectively.

If you are playing CHS, the CHS Japanese art files are under 03/10/07. The Allied CHS art files are a work in process.

All of this ship art includes work from BigB and TomLabel, as well as some of JWEs.

For planesides, the best on the planet is found at http://turkeyvulturesart.info these are the rightfully famous Cathartes planesides. However, Allied only (hey dude whenyagonnado Japan?). The consensus is that planetops from the Elf are, well, tops. Also available at Spookys.

Hope this is helpful.

Understand that most people don’t particularly care about a CHS class and ship reorganization. I’ll keep plugging along and give the product to Andrew, what happens then, happens.

I have decided what to do about the standard art for CHS. I have the art, but it is organized in accord with the class and ship reorganization mod, so it won’t work with the current scenario set. So, I will make the art available as a kit; blank backgrounds and organized by type, as below. You can do what you want with it.

I know people want everything as Sides and Shills, but there are certain, let’s just say anomalies, in the CHS database, and it’s very difficult to make the art fit. Cut and paste, and renumber, is really the only answer. I’ll provide a background panel so things will look like the rest of the standard art sets.

Hopefully I can get Andrew to host these, so people don’t have to scroll through Spooky’s to get the whole collection. I’ll let you know where they will be.

Ciao. JWE

I have not done a standard art set for CHS/Allies, only Stock/Allies, Stock/Japan and CHS/Japan. BigB's mods are based on the stock database, although they use AB's maps..

In the Matrix stock scenario (1 through16) databases, the HMAS Perth (class slot number 228) shares the bit map graphic for the Leander class, number 216. Thus, the graphic position number 228 is unused. Matrix puts a placeholder graphic (The Iowa, I believe) in the otherwise unused bit map locations.

The JWE-style "Standard Art Sets" are intended as direct replacements for the art that came with the game; same art, same numbers, only prettier (IMHO). Thus, they follow whatever the Matrix stock game database designates as the bit map number for each ship class. This way, the new art can be dropped into existing games without a restart. To do otherwise would require it to be a mod, with all the sync and restart issues that mods have.

The BigB scenarios, although based on stock, may well have redirected some bit map pointers. If you select the Perth, in the game, and get a BB graphic, there is a simple solution that will not require a restart.

Use the editor to see what bit map number is used for the Perth "Class". Copy the AnSide0216.bmp and AnShil0216.bmp files to the number found in the editor for the Perth. Don't change the editor number; you just created a mod! Just copy and paste the .bmp files to the new numbers. The Perth should show up in the game.

Great work JWE!  I'll take the lot please.

You, Buckeroo, along with BigB, TomLabel, Andrew, and Don Bowen, are on the list. As they percolate out of the womb, you guys can witness the birth; all the slippery, slimy, bloody, screaming, gasping, glorious, ... uh .... you're on the list. You got Elf's latest?? He might want some to. Ciao.

Has anyone made a Flower class ship in the stanadardized art set? I've not had any luck finding one yet that is a nice plain grey. My ability with the art program is VERY limited so if someone can point me in the right direction I'd be much obliged.

Yes, looks like this; will be available with the entire set; coming soon. If it's in the game, there will be a standard grafik for it.

Well, the CHS art is done (except for about 4 or 5 little bits); there are some various Aux minelayers, minesweepers, and coastal patrol boats, that I haven’t quite decided on yet, but once I get some good, ‘terminal’ (arrh arrh arrh) input from Kristian, Don, Joe, and Justin, these will take minutes to finalize. There ought to be enuf to satisfy any AFB.

The art is organized in accord with a J mod proposal, sent to Andrew, and numbered accordingly. The basis CHS 2.08 has some anomalous bit map pointers as well as some anomalous ship class characteristics, so I did not feel comfortable developing an art set for CHS per se. The CHS Pros From Dover can take what they need from the blank panels and renumber accordingly. A background panel will be included, so that the art will play with the Stock set and the CHS JP set.

I’m sending them to Andrew for hosting; don’t know if that will fly. If not, I’ll send to Monsieur le Spook. Anyway, enjoy. Panel 1 follows.

And panel 3; the rest of the art generally conforms to the Stock Art Set.
