Question: so at what point does "Oil prices hit a new high" stop being news? There has been an article on that every day for at least the last three months. [8|] Now, "Oil prices decline"...THAT would be news...and happy news at that.

It stops being news when it is no longer the number one factor impacting the economy. It could be news for quite a while. [8|]

This has all the feel of the dotCom and refinancing craziness of the last 10 years.

This has all the feel of the dotCom and refinancing craziness of the last 10 years.

I whole heartedly agree that there is quite an oil frenzy these days. Where I think this differs, is that I don't think there is as much of a bubble in oil as the old dot-com days. I personally believe that less of this price runup in oil is caused by speculation than congress or the public wants to believe, and more of it is caused by a good old fashioned increase in demand. (Read, India and China)

One unusual recipe I adopted is a leek and asparagus soup with liver dumplings, very tasty. I thought this and then a friend of mine who is relatively high up in 'big oil'.....said it was all 'Wall Street spec.' (not just WS but world wide stock markets) .....causing the problems.......although he was not concerned as his bonus was on the up..................but let's refrain from any thought that may be seen as political......my.... we are having loveley weather here in th UK.....at least for the next 10 minutes......and the price of herring is down.....ish....
