Just in case someone is wondering - the * behind the name of certain AK type ships indicate that these were not "AK" but "AF" types IRL - stores ships with most of the cargo spaces equipped to transport refrigerated goods. If you are role-playing the game, you shouldn't use those ships to transport troops (unless you want to acclimate them for a campaign in the Aleutians / Kuriles).
2nd River Transport Engineer Battalion arrives at Tokyo=

Surprised myself to see that, I have no recollection adding this unit and its two sisters, but a check of the editor confirms. These are three small units composed of security troops, some light AA, Port and Shipping Eng / Labor squads and naval support, destined for the Burma area Army in order to operate the shipping on the navigable (for river craft) parts of the Irrawaddy and the Chindwin rivers.

I have one of them in theatre at Burma. Still have to get cracking and transport the other two down there. One thing about your mod.... so much to do. I am sure I will be coming back to this mod after I finish this match. It is one hard learning curve and I am liking it more the longer I play.

Hi LST. I took your advice on board before my excessively long hibernation. You won't see it amongst my reports but by the end of July everything on that island will have been removed.

It is taking me a long time to slow down to the pace or your mod. Not complaining by any means but it does require a major head shift in terms of being aggressive and managing the Japanese economy... AND, just to remind myself, move at a slower pace. [;)]

Surprisingly good results against that many Zeros and he was under escorting his KB. It always amazes me how lightly escorted the most valuable assets the Japanese have seem to be.

Plenty of things going on here to bring about a result I wasn't looking for. We have advanced weather effects on and on this day the area was plagued by severe storms. Plenty of cloud around to hide 100+ enemy bombers. Then there was the afternoon strike after the CAP had dealt with a number of air strikes from Rabaul. To do that defending meant that many of the fighters had been set to CAP for a couple of hexes around the carriers. I had a multi-layer CAP going on but that still was not enough to deter the torpedo bombers. I always expected dive bombers to get through and had thought that I had enough in play to deal with torpedo bombers.... clearly that was not the case.

The results also do not show all of the ships, including escorts, in the hex. I had 2 carrier TFs in the hex and Kirishima was there as she runs in a pair with Hiei. Not a good day but I take solace from the fact that it could have been so much worse. Kaga is a Midway style burning wreck with next to no hope of making Rabaul. Zuiho has 61 flotation damage and also a high risk of being lost. Shokaku, Soryu and Hiryu all need big port dock time.

I have also learnt that Ed has pulled together all of his carrier (including the Brits) to make an early war death star. This does not augur well for the death stars to come.
