A German army is destroyed south of Daugvapils, and a para unit is mauled. But he has so many tanks and aircraft. It is vital that these are grounded..... please...

Meanwhile in the Pripyat Marshes, there is some weakening of a number of German units. These are in the marshes and behind river so theoretically good defensive terrain, but I will try and keep the pressure on here as much as possible.

The best that can be said for the Western Allies is that at least they have a number of units landed now and, even I, shouldn't be pushed back in the sea from here.

However, the presence of the armies and panzer unit are a concern, as is the fact that the German air force has grown stronger. It is intercepting twice a turn and being counter-intercepted each time, but it doesn't ever let up....

To counter, I have two artillery landed and also have a couple of anti-tank units. However there is little room for manoeuvre and I really need Nantes to fall quickly.

The Japanese lose more units and take more losses in the pocket. Subsequent to this picture I reduced all ports remaining to the Japanese to zero. Four armies, one corps, a garrison and two HQ remain.

Nagasaki is taken, but Hiroshima will prove a tougher nut to crack. The good news is that the remaining carriers, that I know of, have been destroyed. The Japanese appear to have quite a few air assets remaining but I don't know what level the fighters are at.

The Germans fall back on Oslo, but there is seemingly nothing I can do about Finland. At least the last (as far as I know) destroyer flotilla has been sunk....

The jets arrival is distinctly unwelcome. I need aircraft not to fly so my air force can catch up and re-build. A panzer corps was destroyed last turn to at least make up for the huge losses the Western Allies suffered - but then I need aircraft to fly to make any progress.....

I doubt I will even reach Paris at this rate.....

No destruction of any Japanese units occurred, but those that remain fall back on an ever smaller pocket.

In Japan I underestimated just how many aircraft carriers and destroyers the Japanese would still have left. But unless there are any left in the northern islands, then the Japanese should now be down to 1 destroyer flotilla after my subs, cruisers and carriers got to work.

A slightly better turn for the Soviets. The German jets have shown themselves here too unfortunately, but on the ground a paratrooper and a mechanised infantry was destroyed. Although Daugvapils and Minsk are no nearer to falling, I have two units abreast the Kaunas-Minsk road, and if aircraft can remain grounded, this might persuade the Germans its time to withdraw - this is especially so as Tolbukhin forced two German corps back in the Pripyat Marshes to the south.

It was a semi-decent turn in the west. With time running out I try and test the German defences, and accept that they've probably got panzers in reserve.

A British/Canadian force, with US support, tries to manoeuvre around the German left flank southwest of Paris. An army is destroyed in the process. Further north a corps is destroyed by American forces, with South African support.

The Germans finally pull back. This means another turn just to get into position to attack - assuming no further withdrawal. A real shame.

Sadly the gamble on trying to take Hiroshima before the weather set in failed and I've lost a lot of units out of supply and destroyed. But time was not on my side and I had to try something quickly.

The Western Allies fall short again. Cherbourg continues to hold, as does the hex northeast of Nantes - both by two.
