Haha, your top pilot list and mine are quite different! [:D]

Not even sure how many double aces I have? 50? 100? No idea! I´ll put mine up for you to compare. [:)]

Yeah, I've got a ton of guys with good experience, just not the kills. a lot with 5-9, but as you see very few over 10.

Your USN pilots must be insane after all of those 1k loss days for my strikes!

I put the list up. Leading Ace is USAAF. Actually I think the majority in the top are USAAF! I think your strikes against my CVs the kills got spread out among hundreds of different pilots.

Actually it makes sense for the entire war, because the USAAF guys were up almost daily through 43-45. Your leading missions guys worked way too hard! I'll post mine in a bit here once I fire up the old machine. Mine is something like 1350 missions. Still over one a day!!

Heh, my guy with most missions are actually an Aussi! Almost 1600 missions. Every day for almost 4,5 year! [X(]

EDIT: Just checked the list. Almost no USAAF pilots with over 1000 missions. About 200 or had crossed the 1000 mission limit. Almost all are USN. I guess its all those doing CAP on the CVs. But top 4 are Aussis!

As a parting shot to the game we did a post-game test run with different settings on the last turn. It taught me some things, even to the last here.

Any chance of giving this another run or two? I know this is a bit of a science experiment but I am curious as to the possible range of results in a late war surface battle. Those Cleveland class CL's are a PIA for the Japanese and the British always seem to get torpedo hits. Well played and thanks for the AAR. Game was about to turn in to monotonous bombing campaign so it was a good time to end

I'll see if Jocke is interested. Depends on whether he saved the file after putting all of those ships there. Come to think of it, did I? [:D]

The BBs that escaped, Mutsu, Ise, Hyuga and Musashi, had relatively minor damage, including Musashi with only 6 float damage from the sub TT hit. All DDs were sunk that started with the TF. The old BBs expended only a small portion of their secondary 14cm ammo though, which is always a sticking point for me. They're at 0 with main armament, and the battles were close, down to 2k yards for some, so why didn't these fire more that 2-3 times? Never makes sense to me but it is a regular occurrence.

A slight delay in my end of game posts as I'm finally wiping my HD to the aging gaming computer to rid it of the effects of a virus I acquired a month or so ago. it'll be tomorrow at least before I can do what i want, but I have some files I'll be throwing up later tonight. Fun digging into it all and figuring out what really happened. The timeline will be a real shocker, especially late war. The Allies can move real fast wen they get going!

Thanks to both of you gentleman for such great AARs and spirited game play, and for sticking it out as far as you did (I still wanted to see the Russian hordes head over the border). [;)]

Yes! So did I, sort of. [:D]

They wouldn't have found much to fight, but I was interested in seeing the Russian fleet and air force as well. Not that Jocke needed it by that point.

As with everything in the late game, it sucks when you can't see it play out. When I realized i had all of the stuff set up to get to 46 except one, supply, it was pretty disappointing. The goal was to last as long as possible.

My goal was to just see how everything worked, but it's a game, and Jocke got to see how strat bombing worked as well. This made it much less interesting for me as the planes that had been researching for years suddenly weren't in game anymore, like the Shinden. The Russians are kind of made irrelevant once an Allied landing in Korea happens.

DD LOSSES
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Things started alright, with only 11 DDs lost in 41-42, although a good number of other E and DMS escorts were lost as well.

In 43 the naval battles heated up, and the IJN lost another 24 DDs. Still, even at this point, only 12 were from the best designs like Kagero, Yugumo or Akizuki classes.

In 44 the Allied fleets took charge and the IJN surface fleet was increasingly marginal. A total of 47 DDs were lost.

By 45 the addition of the Matsu and Tachibana class DDs helped keep BBs with escorts and left the remaining stronger DDs to move with the KB. A total of 46 were lost through he end of June.

Lost TOTAL: 128

DDs STILL FLOATING
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

By the end there were still enough DDs to cycle some out for repairs and continue operations with bombardments and keeping the KB escorted. The Akizukis stayed with the KB throughout, from when they were commissioned until the end, so unless sunk during a CV exchange, they are still there. (There might be a few in the yard repairing, so maybe a few more than listed here actually).

It's kind of funny thinking the Allies have literally 10x this amount sailing around! [:D]

Remaining DDs: 52

obvert great job. I've already applied some of the lessons from your war to the planning for my own game.

For fun - from tracker what are some of your ships with the highest crew experience?

Something I haven't looked at. I'll check into it. Probably by sometime tomorrow.

Let me know if there are other questions. I am mostly dealing with units, pilots, ships, and things of a measurable sort now. I'd like to get into strategic concerns as related to the economy more later as well.

Thanks koniu! And thanks for the help all of the way through.

I do love the images, and I've learned so much by just searching them out, finding the ones I'd never seen, reading those stories. I included more of the stories early on, and I'd like to do more of that in the future.

As for 44, it was all hinging n the Allied move to Sarmi. The KB had them in the sights and couldn't stop it. That turned everything in the Allied favor.

Great AAR! I love the fact that you post so many post-game information. I look forward to the economy overview.
