In the United States, it is Labor. In English, it is labour.
OTOH, I have trouble speaking 'Murican'.
I have stayed in Winnipeg and had no trouble understanding the people there. It was a rather large estate north of the city on the Red River of the North. I have been elsewhere in Canada and have had no trouble understanding their version of English either.
