117th USN Base Force and 2nd Marines are unloading at PH. Both are planning for Wake Island. All the forces available should be assembled within a week.

At Soerabaya, De Zeven Provincien is 48/30. She will soon be able to sail for a port with a large repair yard.

The Chinese cruiser force found nothing at Batan Island and is heading for Okinawa...

Same deja vu problem in this game too. Martin changed PCs and I sent him the necessary turns. Hope I sent the right ones!

2nd Marines and 117th USN BF are unloading at Pearl. The last unit for the Wake Operation should be underway from Mare Island within the next two turns.

2 transports are now unloading at Manila and supplies are above 30,000 tons again. De Zeven Provincien is now 48/30. The Chinese cruiser squadron has been given orders for a surface sweep of Naha (deja vu?!).

The screenie shows the RN reinforcements due. I was looking through the heavy metal. Interestingly, the BBs of the 4th Battle Squadron have poorer deck armour (by 6 mm) than the Big Cat BCs. The two older BCs will probably sail to join their ANZAC sisters at Rabaul. Agamemnon may well move South as a guardship too, so all the ships I keep at Singapore will have at least 13.5 inch main batteries. This does go against the rule that one should always concentrate your forces, but politically I have to cover Australia, as well.

Reserve Fleet Naval HQ is moving from San Diego to Mare Island. Battle Fleet HQ is heading in the same direction, but is planning for Pearl Harbor.

DD Williams must have missed out on her upgrade beacsue she has commenced it at PH.

Pac Flt is now at Rabaul (see screenie) and will move onto Soerabaya via the Torres Strait in the hope of not letting Martin know that I have the bulk of my Dreadnoughts in theatre. They cleaned Rabaul out of fuel. TKs are moving to Batavia for more and 2 TKs are loading at Karachi. Their route will take them through the Sulu Sea, so there is a chance of an incident that might bring the Royal Navy closer to full participation. I will probably have them change course and replenish at Singapore to keep them out of the war zone (if I remember).

A minelaying task force is heading from PH to French Frigate Shoal. All units for the Wake operation are now on their way to PH. USS Illinois arrived at PH to join the bombardment force.

2 more supply ships are loading for speed runs into Manila. Martin's subs and ships are conspicuous by their absence. I have not seen anything since the recent "bump" at Laoag - I really miss air search! Tarakan could have been a feint to get me to move Pac Flt over to the DEI. I have played chess with Martin and he is so clever...

2 more USN DDs completed repairs at Colombo and are heading for Balikpapan.

I have noticed there are no minesweepers in the DEI, so 4 have sailed from Mare Island with 4 AKs, heading initially for Rabaul. ML San Francisco is off to mine Midway from PH. It is about 140 days before new Dreadnoughts start to arrive for the USN (and even then they are few and far between), so I am starting to feel a little exposed in the Central Pacific.

The 9 Pac Flt Dreadnoughts in the DEI have increased speed to mission speed to get into position faster. My subs will maintain a blockade of Manila to make it difficult for Martin to easily redistribute his troops.

The British minelaying sub L2 is off to lay a small defensive field at Jesselton.

I had been keeping Pac Flt together, but now the Scouting Force, the Replenishment Group and the Battle Line will all make their best mission speed for Kendari.

The reason for this is the appearance of a Jap task force reported as a BB and an AP by coast watchers (see screenie) Potential destinations are Menado, Amboina or maybe even Kendari. SOPAC Force, consisting of 2 USN pre-Dreadnoughts, 2 armoured cruisers, 1 light cruiser and 20 destroyers is heading out from Balikpapan to Menado at full speed. A US/Dutch DD/TB force will remain to cover Balikpapan.

2 USN DMs sailed from Singapore to lay mines at Kendari, which will become the USN main Battle Fleet's forward operating base. S-3 redeployed from Tsingtao to the Amami Group.
