Allied initiative, no reroll.

Allied Impulse #1

Weather is Fine except Rain in N. Monsoon.

CW, USA, France take Naval while USSR and China take Land.

The USA moves a strong FTR into the Coral Sea 3 Box. In Naval moves, many units are TRS and AMPH loaded in both Italian Coast and North Sea as well as some going to the Bay of Biscay. Some TRS land units in France, notably, an American and French HQ. As well, the USA moves units into both the Solomons and Coral Sea. All three naval powers cover convoys throughout the seas.

In the Coral Sea, Japan has 2 surprise points. They boost their air combat. After having an CVP destroyed, the USA aborts from the air combat. Neither side finds for the 2nd round.

In the south China sea, the USA SUBs find the Japanese CPs; however, they do not have enough surprise to negate the CV escort, so no result arises from the event. In a second round, the Japanese find the SUBs with 3 surprise and a CV. The damaged is increase to 2 aborts from no effect and both subs are aborted.

The Naval Phase ends.

Continuing from the Naval phase...

No Strategic Bombing is done.

Russia conducts GS against a hex SW of Vitebsk and a couple along the Polish-Rumanian borders with Russia. The Chinese Nationalist strike 2 hexes west of Sean along with a Communist ART. There are no German counters; however, Japan does intercept near Sian and are, in turn, countered by the Nationalists. After a brief combat, the attacker LND clears and all FTRs abort without issue.

Near Vitebsk, both German units are disrupted. 1 unit is disrupted in a stack along the Polish border, while 1 of 2 is disrupted behind a river in Rumania. In China, both Japanese units are disordered.

No Rail moves are done. Russia moves to position for attacks along its front with Germany. The Communist Chinese also look to attack a Japanese held city. The Nationalists move forward to the front with some reinforcements. A Paradrop is conducted on a hex in Rumania along with FTR escort... it is intercepted and countered, and in the Air Combat the PARA is cleared and the FTRs return to base unscathed.

Attacks are declared SW of Vitebsk, and on 2 hexes NW and SE of Chisinau in Rumania. In China, an attack is declared on Sian with Mao in support.

Ground Support is attempted by both sides in all the Russian hexes under attack. In the north, near Vitebsk, both sides have their bombers cleared. In the hex NW of Chisinau, a Russian FTR is destroyed in return for a German LND while another Russian and German bomber are each cleared. SE of Chisinau, a German FTR-Bomber is destroyed and an FTR likewise, while the Russian LND clears with no other losses on that side. Japan adds support in its hex in China that is being attacked, and it is not intercepted.

The Land attacks will occur in the following post...

Allied Impulse #1 Con't

In the attack near Vitebsk, Russia chooses a Blitz and shatters the defenders, gaining a breakthrough with no losses or disruption. NW of Chisinau, there is another Blitz called by the USSR and the resualt is suboptimal with the loss of a Russian MOT and PARA and Germany losing a unit in return (AT). SE of Chisinau, another Blitz goes forward and the hex is taken, not losses to the Russians and a B result, shatterng the defending MECH. Finally, in China, Japan chooses a Blitz losing 1 unit and the other shattered with the attackers unphased.

Russia does some reorganizing in both North and South, using 4 of its HQ. Rebases are done by the USA and CW.
That is the end of impulse for the Allies.

Axis Impulse #2

Germany and Japan take Land Actions while Italy takes a combined.

Italy moves its SUB into the East Med, 3 Box After activation, both sides find. As the Allies do not take an air combat, surface results. Allies have 4 surprise points and choose surface. The Italian SUB is destroyed.

Japan does a STRAT mission against Sian. There is no damage.

Germany and Japan do line repairs on the various troubled fronts. Italy pulls back an ART in Italy.

Japan rebases a FTR with tactical factors into China. Germany rebases FTRs to both France and East Poland, trying to stem the bleeding.

Allied Impulse #3

Every major takes a Land except for France which takes a combined.

Russia does a GS 2 hexes to the NE of Minsk. An ART is striking on a stack on the other side of the bend of the Dniester in Rumania and an LND FTR-bomber are attacking an adjacent stack SE of that, containing the Guderian HQ. The CW does a GS against Naples in Italy along with a US NAV and LND. 2 US and a French LND do a strike against a German SS MOT on the other side of the Loire R. NE of La Rochelle. Germany intecepts over Naples and near Minsk. Combat occurs over these hexes. Near Minsk, the Russian LND clears while the FTRs are aborted. Over Naples, after the German FTR is destroyed, all allied bombers clear.

Near Minsk, no units are flipped. In Rumania, along the river, both units are disorganized as is Guderian in the adjacent hex. In France, the German SS MOT is disorganized. Finally, both German Units in Naples are disrupted.

Land portion to be continued...

Allied Impulse #3 Con't

The land portion goes on...

Russia rails a low MIL eastwards. Moves are to position for attacks, mostly in the south of Russia into Rumania. The allies reposition sundry units along the front in France, emptying ports for others to land in. An attack on Naples is set. In the Pacific, a MAR div takes an island bordering both the Solomon and Bismarck Seas.

Disembarks happen aplenty into Freed France, both CW and USA. A CW force invades Naples simultaneously with the land attacks. In addition to Naples, the USA declares an attack on a SS unit just across the Loire R. Russia declares an attack just 2 hexes NE of Minsk, and a couple in the south. China declares an attack on a small GAR west of Nanyang in the north.

Shore bombardment is added to Naples in abundance.

There is only air combat near Minsk to add Ground Support, as again, overwhelming allied air superiority makes it problematic to get and support in without too many losses. In the combat, the German LND is aborted and the Russian destroyed.

As to Land combats, in China, Japan selects Blitz without much hope. The hex is lost without issue for the Communists and a Japanese GAR is destroyed (no screenshot for this one). In France, the USA chooses a blitz. They take the hex with a breakthrough and no losses or ill effects. In Naples, all defenders are destroyed and the attackers suffer no damage or bad repercussions.

The land portion goes on...

Near Minsk, once again the allies are rolling top of the table and take the hex without issue in a breakthrough. In Eastern Ukraine, the attack goes well also and the hex is taken, destroying the defender without harm to the attackers. To the south, in Rumania, a blitz is called. The hex is taken, but 1/2 the attackers are disorganized.

No rebases occur except China moves a strong LND forward. Russia does some reorganization using 3 HQ for the purpose.

Axis Impulse #4

Germany takes a Land; Italy, a Combined; and Japan, a Naval.

Japan moves more units into the Coral Sea and transports a few units to their destinations (Truk and China). Italy moves its remaining Naval Fleet into the West Med.

Italy activates in the West Med but both sides find. Allies call a naval air combat with no surprise and abort 1 CA. Italy aborts the sea zone thereafter.

In the Coral Sea, Japan activates but the Allies gain 5 surprise and select naval air. After a CVP is aborted for Japan and a FTR is destroyed for the US, Japan aborts the air combat. AAA reduces the CVP factors to 3 and a Japanese BB and CV are aborted. In a 2nd round, the Japanese find with 4 surprise and select a surface combat. The USA sees 2 CA destroyed while Japan sees a CA damaged and 2 BB aborted. Looking at the lack of sea power compared to the Japanese, the USA decides to abort the combat.

The Naval phase ends.

There is no strategic bombing done. Japan does a GW against a Communist MECH in China. It fails.

Germany moves units on all fronts to try to fix its myriad problems. There are no attacks.

Japan uses the HQ in Rabaul to reinvert a few ships. Germany uses an INF HQ in the north to unflip a FTR.
Japan uses a number of TRS/AMPH tp reorganize some ships in Truk and Rabaul.

Allied Impulse #5

Weather is Fine everywhere except Storm in N. Monsoon.

All Allied powers take a Land.

Nothing happens until GS. A hex SW of Rouen is set to be attacked as is one one the border of Latvia and Eastern Poland. Near Rouen, 1 Allied LND is aborted while the other clears while 1 German FTR is destroyed.

Russia flips 1 of 2 land units in the north while leaving an FTR upright. Near Rouen, none of the units are disrupted. A GS NW of La Rochelle does not succeed in disrupting the INF that is out of supply there.

The USA and CW shuffle around France for a bit. Ditto for Italy. Russia moves along the front to infiltrate German positions in the south of Russia and confront forces in the north.

Attacks are declared in France against in isolated German INF on the West Coast, by the Communists in China against a Japanese MIL settled in the mountains in the north, in southern Russia against some units settled in the forest north of Bucharest and another further north on the Rumanian border, and in northern Russia against 2 hexes along the Polish border. Shore bombardment is added against the unit along the French Coast. Ground support is added by various sides, none of which is intercepted.

In France, the attack is practically and automatic and despite a 4 rolled, the hex is taken with no bad effects on the attacker. In China, the Communists lose a unit (MIL) and are disrupted.

To be continued...

Land Attacks Con't

In Central Rumania, the Russians lose 2 units (a MOT and a MOT div) and are disorganized in a blitz attack, while the Axis lose an ART. Similarly, in northern Rumania, the Russians lose a MECH and a MIL to the loss by Germany of a MOT. Russian units are disrupted. NE of Minsk, all attackers are disorganized with no losses on either side. In the farthest hex north, along the Polish border, a final attack does see some success with shattering of the defenders, no losses for Russia, and a B.

Russia rebases a LND and FTR closer in the northern arena. The CW rebases 2 FTRs into Naples. The USA sends a transported FTR into France.

Alexander reorganizes 2 FTR in France.

(looks like I did not take a proper screen shot of 1 Rumanian attack...)

Axis Impulse #6

Japan and Italy take Combineds while Germany takes a Land Action.

Japan port strikes a TRS in Port Vila (the junction of Coral Sea, Solomons and New Zealand Coast. It is intercepted by US CVP in the Solomons. The Japanese obtain 3 surprise and use it to decrease enemy effectiveness at air combat. One US CVP is destroyed while both Japanese CVP bombers clear through to targets. The TRS is destroyed (the USA could have rebased a FTR from a TRS in the New Zealand Coast in its last impulse, but for some reason, thought another FTR in France was more important).

Japan adds another FTR to the 4 box in the Coral Sea.

Naval moves see a TRS go from Truk to the Bismark Sea, and a small CV fleet moving into the 4 box of the Coral Sea.

No Naval Activation successfully occurs for either side.

There is no Strat Bombing or GS attempted.

Japan rails a land unit from the coast to Chengchow in Northern China. Germany rails a Yugoslavian HQ into southern France. Italy rails an INF from Athens to the southern front along the Rumanian border.

Japan moves a few units into front-line positions. Italy sidles a HQ into interior Italy. Germany repositions its whole Russian Front and moves units to defend in France.

No land combats are declared.

Japan rebases a LND into a slightly better position. Germany rebases some fighters closer to the front lines in France.

Rundstedt reorganizes 4 land units in Southern Russia. Model unflips a FTR in France. Rommel fixes a FTR in Northern Russia.

Allied Impulse #7

Weather is fine everywhere except for Rain in the N. Monsoon.

The USA and France take Combineds and everyone else takes a Land Action.

The USA makes Naval moves into the Marianas Sea Zone and a loaded CA with CW Div into the Marshalls Sea Zone as well as moving a TRS from an island by the Coral Sea back to the US West Coast. A search in the Marianas SZ is unsuccessful by both sides.

A few GS are being conducted in France by the Western Allies against 2 hexes SW of Rouen and a hex east of La Rochelle. Russia is doing 2 strikes with ART just over the East Polish border in the south. Germany elects not to intercept any of the GSs. Most GS see a degree of success with only 1 ground unit undisrupted in France of the 8 possible chances and the 2 ART strikes near Poland both successful.

CW moves some units in England. The USA shuffles 4 units into attack position in France. Russia tries to get an attack, but fails, in the south, but maneuvers into a decent position in the north against 1 hex.

2 CW INF invade the hex SW of Rouen.

The USA declares an attack just east of La Rochelle while the CW declares on the invaded hex near Rouen. Russia declares on 1 hex just inside of Latvia.

Maximum shore bombardment is directed by the CW on the hex near Rouen.

Ground support is added with escort SW of Rouen. None is added to the attack near La Rochelle. Russia adds an LND to the attack into Latvia.

Germany intercepts near Rouen and brings in some LNDs. 1 German LND is destroyed while the other is aborted. Almost all CW LND are cleared. (no screen shot unfortunately).

In Latvia, a B result is achieved destroying both defenders (HQ-INF and MECH). Near La Rochelle, the hex is taken with 50% disorganized US forces and a retreat of the Germans. A German LND is destroyed. The same result occurs near Rouen.

The USA rebases an LND and FTR into France from England and lands a FTR in Port Vila. Russia moves an LND and FTR forward in the north and a FTR in the south.

The USA, France and CW reorganize units and A/C in France and England using all HQs. An ARM-HQ in northern Russia reorganizes a couple of ARM and a MOT.

The turn does not end on a 2=2.

Germany does an ART GS on a stack in Northern Russia and flipps 1 unit.

Germany moves to set up for an attack NW of Vilna in Poland and to make its lines stronger. It tries to settle into a "strong" defense in France.

An attack is declared NW of Vilna. Russia brings in ground support in the form of an ART. No good result is had for Germany with all attackers disorganized (but no losses) and the defenders unaffected.

An air is rebased from Factory protection to Northern Russia. No reorganizations are done.

The turn does not end on a 9>4.

USA, CW and France shuffle units around in France and Italy. Russia moves units in the North to set up a blitz attack on an inverted stack. South is static with most units being disorganized.

Paradrops are done on a hex 2 to the west of Paris by the CW and on one 2 east of La Rochelle by the USA. The one near Paris is intercepted. It is counter-intercepted in turn. The PARA near Paris gets through with a German FTR destroyed.

Attacks are declared west of Paris and east of La Rochelle, and against a hex east of Vilna in Poland.

Ground support and escorts are assigned by both sides to the hex east of La Rochelle. After combat, 1 German LND and FTR are destroyed while a German and an American LND clear

The Land attacks portion continues...

In Poland, the attack near Vilna meets total success with no ill effects on the Russian attackers and 2 of three defenders destroyed (MIL/MOT) and 1 shattered (AT) (plus a FTR is destroyed in an overrun.

Near La Rochelle, 1/2 attackers are disorganized while defenders are shattered with a Breakthrough result. The USA loses a MOT div.

West of Paris, the CW wins convincingly with no negative results, shattering 2 of the 3 defending units with one other destroyed. A MOT Div is destroyed while and ARM and MOT go to the spiral.

The CW rebases an LND into France as does the USA along with a FTR. It also rebases a FTR to Naples. Russia moves a couple of FTRs and and LND closer to the front in the North.

Weather is Fine except for N. Monsoon which has storm.

All the Allies take Land, except for the USSR which takes a combined.

A Russian SUB moves into the 3 box of the Baltic Sea. The Condor moves to the 0 box to cover the convoys there. The SUB does not find.

No Strat bombing is attempted.

GSs are attempted NW of Naples and across the Loire in France. They are not intercepted. Only 1 unit is inverted, in Naples.

No rail moves are done. The USSR moves to get a decent attack in the north. China moves around Ichang to set up something. The Allies move for attacks in France and ready themselves for Italy.

The CW invades Italy NW of Naples.

Allies attack the hex just to the west of Paris, and another just north of the Loire in addition to Naples. China attacks Ichang. Russia attacks a HQ stacked with an ARM a couple of hexes NE of Kaunas.

France provides Shore Bombardment against Naples. Stilwell adds support against Ichang.

Ground support is flown against Naples and the 2 hexes in France. An LND is sent to the hex near Kaunas. Germany does intercept over Naples and is countered in abundance as well as over the CW attack near Paris and over Kaunas.

Germany loses another FTR NE of Kaunas. West of Paris, the CW aborts after losing a FTR-bomber in the air combat. Over Naples, after destroying a CVP, Germany aborts the one-sided combat (no screen shot, sorry).
