Relative quiet on the Burma Front. 12th Division arrives at Bangkok, where it will act as a reserve.

Wiped out about 50 combat squads destroyed from the isolated 32nd and 6th Allied Divisions.

Moving two Sentai of Franks to Singers for upgrades to Frank R. 1st Sentai is there taking replacements, and resting. Reinforced Magwe with about 24 top of the fighters...only about 150 fighters there, but a real hornets nest with Jacks, Georges, and Franks.

Too bad this happened late in the morning...enemy air attacks weigh heavily on the minds of the Japanese commanders. Open fire with the rear turrets for once, you swine!

As long as the bombers don't veer off to the south and stick to Umboi....the IJN will survive.

Two light cruisers and 8 destroyers really run riot over the Allied fleets...and all should escape to fight again.

Not to mention the best way to improve morale is to have your fighter pilots jump unescorted single engine bombers.

That there was no bombers from Port Moresby area was quite nice for the two task forces that didn't make it back to Umboi.

The only negative for the day, is the Allies finally put up some LRCAP over the Rabaul garrison as it slugs thru the jungle...20 flying boats lost.

But, hey! They have rescued over 11,000 pixel soldiers to fight another day...that isn't too shabby![8D] Plus 1300 men have made it one hex further to the west and that should be safe to pick up...at least we will try. And several more units are only a day or two away from joining them.

Today was the 3rd Tank/A's day to attack. I bolstered the attack with the 41st infantry regiment which unfortunately has 65 disrupted squads on 40 combat ready. But they were game!

I just want these guys to hurry up and surrender.[:)]

A perusal of the combat reports seems to indicate the IJN raid sank about 22 fairly worthless ships....and there were some great prizes that escaped.

I have moved all the raiders into Escort task forces with low threat in an attempt to avoid retaliation. There is an off chance the Allies surge with their warships from Rabaul. If I would have thought ahead on the matter, the KB would be in position to protect the retreating ships....but then again that could be a fair bit of wasted fuel and the great chance of an Alpha strike at modern battleships with heavy land based fighter LRCAP.

That is not how I want to expend the KB pilots and airplanes.

Hansa Bay will get elements of the one Division in the area...that recently was defending Rabaul, where half are still stuck retreating thru the jungles of New Britain, but the guns and about 60 AV of troops will fast transport into Hansa Bay to anchor the defense there for a bit.

A large amount of reinforcement, regiments and AA, are arriving in the SRA/New Guinea/Mindanao area.

Came close, still stung a bit.

Here is one of the two task forces that managed to evade during the night. The destroyers would have really eaten them up...and the destroyer squadron then retired and didn't fight anymore. So sad.
