• We are lifting a parachute regiment into Mengtze to make certain retreating enemy units don't recapture it. The paras will also bolster Allied forces in the area. We also now have 2 units on the road well west of Mengtze making their way to the battle for Kunming.

• Our troops near Tsuyung are still recovering for the next assault.

• The last two enemy units in Nanning, which were retreated to the NE, are still in that hex (harassed by air strikes) and making their way to the road NE of their position. We have units heading to that hex to obstruct them just to keep them out of the fight for longer and potentially trap them.

• As our forces blast through enemy defenses in Wuchow we will have some units in place to prevent them from retreating to Canton. Likewise, we will seek to prevent enemy forces in Canton from retreating to Hong Kong.

• Some of the >70,000 enemy ejected from Liuchow are now entering Kweilin. In addition to tactical air strikes our 4EB are doing everything they can to denude Kweilin of supply each and every turn.

Interesting raid. The two "Merchant Shipyards" means he must have converted the Naval Shipyard to a Merchant one. That speaks to how badly off he is for merchant ships now - probably needs more to haul in resources.

I really wondered about that. I always thought the Empire had tons of merchants, way more than they could use in the late game.

Japanese Unit(s) surrounded at Palembang

• If Palembang falls quickly enough we will move those units not committed to Luzon over to Singapore.

• Trains carrying the last of the units from Cam Ranh Bay heading for Singapore will be rolling through Bangkok tomorrow.

China

• Assault tomorrow near Tsuyung.

• We have most of a para Bde in Mengtze, but the engineers won't paradrop (I think) so we still can't finish building the airstrip.

• Now two units on the road west of Mengtze, one more to go.

• We might be able to trap the two units (one division, one artillery) ejected from Nanning (now just NE of Nanning).

• The Empire has sought to foul the road south of Kweilin so our tanks shall clear it.

• We will try to surround Wuchow and destroy the enemy there rather than allowing them to escape to Canton.

• At some point we have to lift a unit to Kiungshan so it can move on Samah.

India, Burma, Thailand, Indochina

• The ports at Saigon and Cam Ranh Bay are very busy with supplies and attendant black market activity.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

Daytime Stuff

• Recon shows that Okinoerabushima and Tokunoshima are lightly held. Okinoerabushima requires a landing shock attack, but might have less than 2,000 defenders so we will land there on day 1 along with Amami Oshima, Tokunoshima, and Naha. In other words. 4 targets on day 1, then Nago as soon as warships are ready and the path is open.

• All but one of the units for Tokunoshima are loading now. The last unit, a division, will load up when the convoy of RN LSI(L) get to Dadjangas from Batavia, but they might not be needed as Tokunoshima has only about 3,200 defenders.

• The RN fast battleships are being brought up for the battle over the Ryukyus. I think this battle will bring out all remaining major IJN assets.

I suspect that this:

• +/- VP today: -47 (As often the case, no idea why.)

is lack of supply at a base.

Must be a pretty valuable base! Sometimes I wonder if Intel updates on the ships presumed sunk, but found not to be, lead to adjustment of those VPs.

On this particular day there were no falsely reported sinkings discovered. Probably a base or combination of them. Or maybe some incidental air losses combined with the Empire getting supply to bases where it was short, giving Japan a net + VP.

That convoy caught at the port in northern Luzon might have been unloading supplies???

• The road past Kweilin is clear again. No doubt more sacrifices to the Emperor will be made to obstruct it.

• Tomorrow there will be a shock attack by two small armored units crossing into Wuchow.

• There is what looks like a strong brigade just east of Canton, perhaps digging in to hamper encirclement.

witpqs: • The 18th British Division is unloading at Malacca. They will be the last arriving unit assigned to Singapore.

And a man dressed in mid-1700s garb rides a horse through Singapore shouting "The British are coming! The British are coming!" [:D]
