The plan sounds great.
I wish you were sick more often (=spend more time on AAR). [8D]

Didn't post much those last months, but Im regularly checking your thread and Pauk's. That's just brilliant entertainment, and this Iwo Jima stand is simply outstanding. A great benchmark for both game mechanics and WiP fun. Two thumbs up, give 'em hell [:D] [;)]

I read that you have had problems with uncoordinated strikes and not enough CAP fighters launching. You did remembered to airlift Air HQs into the main airfields?

Sometimes to maximize the CAP strength I set fighters to long range CAP 100% with home base set as a target and range set to 0.

Good luck PzB. You and Andy have made this battle the most enjoyable AAR in the forums.

Been stuck with the flu for a week...back on work on Thursday! [;)]

Got so many damaged ships in Iwo Mike that I'm not sure it will be possible to save her.
There are some major fleet HQs with a range of 9 in the Home Islands that I'm trying to move within range.
An AR is also speeding south, but I'm pretty sure she'll founder in port tomorrow. Anyway, she won't be ready for
another sortie until 1946 [8|]

There are Air HQ's in both Iwo and Bonin as well as 3 Army HQs with another large one inbound for Bonin.
I'm relying on air support from Iwo next turn. Just let's hope the fighters will scramble... [&o]

Thx for the support guys, appreciate it [:)]
The game is truly enjoyable! Get a bit frustrated by things that doesn't work every now and then.
It has to be like this when you're so involved on a detailed mico-management level.

It was actually a relief to reduce the number of air units. I was almost totally lost in organizing them all.
Can take more time than I really have in the everydays to do a turn properly.

plan sounds great - great Imperial Pauk family is proud with you!

Do not worry for your Milita regiments - had two trained divisions at Mandalay (54 exp). After one (or two, cant recall) enemy deliberate attack, my two divisions gained 10 experience points!

These units are backed with veterans and should boost your defence afer one or two attacks

am I counting wrong? Ive read a couple of times that you are using an HQ in Tokyo to help Iwo..but I count it as 10 hexes distant, not 9...?

Actually, you can count out only 8 hexes. Hex #1 is the hex the HQ is in.

Sounds like a good plan to me, Great to see you fighting back vs Ubercap and given the date it's a great idea to keep the jima's in japanese hands at all costs. I wonder if he'll be forced to send in unprepped troops.

would be nice to see a solid surface engagement too fingers crossed for the Yamato.
sorry for the spelling . English is my main language , I just can't type . and i'm too lazy to edit :)

I think it has some bearing. Take Chinese vs Japanese LCU combat for example. Some bearing I say[;)]

Been without an ISP since 1500 today….somehow an idiot managed to shut down my account 6 weeks before the actual day because of moving. After 5 phone calls and numerous cursing and swearing I’m still waiting for the incompetent people to fix their mistakes.

Todays quote: Me to support personnel: “What idiot did this?” -> “That’s hard to say….”

Well, I took my car around the block and found an unsecure WLAN con. The question is how I will manage to upload all these files and get the turn back to Andy…

Andy suspected trouble because of that silly dark red ac symbol over Iwo.
He moved his carriers and surface groups away and tried to stage attacks on our shipping.
In a way he succeeded, torpedoing 2 battleships. But his carriers were hit equally hard, 2 cvl’s cripplied and a cv takes a torpedo – 68 Hellcats shot down! 

At Iwo a very stubborn little enemy TF of 1 old light cruiser and 3 destroyers meet their doom, but put a fish in a battleship.

All our supplies and troops are landed at Iwo, and the island is now stronger than ever before.
The runways have been cleared and more ac have been moved in.

In addition to this I counted 3 enemy dd/dms sinking as well as the heavy cruiser Salt Lake City which went up with a big baddaboom after bombarding Wake Island! 

An expensive turn, but even more so for Andy.

Hehe no no, Admiral Yamamoto himself was in charge.
The game messes up when a ship is detached and puts the most jr officer in command.

Matrix, add to your Vxxxxxxxxx check list pls [;)]

I got Internett back after 24 hours and 8 calls [:D]
They were unlucky with that one, me still home with the flu but with increasing battle readiness and absolutely in no mood to be without Internet...

Regarding the long range HQ command radius. I also found that the Home Defense HQ had to little command range for the Bonins.
That's why I decided to move another major HQ to Bonin. Let's give our guys all the support they can.

Pretty sure Andy saw my mass of transports north west of Bonin and sent his cv's there to intercept them.
Unfortunately for him they all headed to Iwo. So the first major reinforcement attempt was a success. The next one includes a full armored division....

Our battle fleet is no longer in shape for major offensive operations. Will put together defensive formations and protect them under an air umbrella.
The good news is that relatively few surface units have been sunk. Most suffers moderate sys and flood damage, putting them out of commission.
I'm planning to fix them and have a fleet ready to fight again later in 1945.

If only the Shokaku could make it, we would still have 2 fleet carriers [:)]
The most important thing is to bring 120k troops to each of the islands and pre-empt Andy's reinforcement runs.
Then we can withdraw our ships and ac in an emergency. The mountain defense modifier as well as the large amounts of supplies available will make
it very difficult to capture the islands.

and no cable...I'm out of the game [:(] Ordered a new 32" LCD for the new apartment today, in 3 weeks I'll be back on top [8D]
