Yeah, given we are only on about turn 5 restarting might not be a bad idea, though I have no interest in playing more than one at once.
As far as the Saxony thing: I can see that I disagree with you guys, though by their silence it is difficult to know what others think. Ah well, just a game.

I am also not interested in playing more than one at a time.
RE: 1792 AltHist-A PBEM
Well we can restart with a new scenario folder if everyone wants, but we have to make sure everyone installs it correctly. PBEM 109 was an attempt to use a mod which failed miserably, because apparently not everyone had the correct files installed.
We are only 5 turns in so it doesn't really matter to me, but this would be the third time we started up this one.
Could we do speed COG or something to get back up to turn 5 real quick?

The reason why, in my opinion, "liberating" protectorates is okay, is because it is nothing more than disolving an alliance with a minor nation. It is not at all like transfering said minor nation directly to the control of another nation without it having ANY say. Or worse yet, splitting it into little pieces.
If I didn't allow this type of activity, then I wouldn't be able to tell what kind of an effect this type of rule has. Which is one reason I am doing this AltHist thing.
I hope that clears it up and doesn't leave anyone with hard feelings.

I have a feeling Bill is still not really hooked up to the Internet. I haven't heard anything from him. And haven't seen him post here yet. What do you guys think?

RE: 1792 AltHist-A PBEM
VOTE REQUESTED!!!!!
I just talked to Eric, and it would not be easy to install the "Quartermaster's Field Pack" mod at mid point in the PBEM game. It IS doable, but game files would have to be overwritten. And that would not be easy since we have another player here who is playing another 1792 scenario.
I wouldn't MIND starting over (since this one is going so slowly anyway). Eric is looking forward to giving the mod a try this week himself.
I have a couple of additions planned to province values based on my understanding of the period (though not many--basically, Lusatia will be converted from the desert it is into a very good province and Neumark will also be upgraded a notch or two), then I think the mod will be ready.
What are people's thoughts? I would like to see votes on this one.
What I can promise is that the reality of the game will be much higher. The new snow pattern alone is really making a campaign game I am playing with it very interesting.
With all of the delays we have had on this game and the fact that we have only played 5 turns makes me think it may be worth it. Again, remember this AltHist game is a game designed to help me playtest some stuff as well as deliver the maximum realism to the players (indeed, we may be coming closer to what it was like to run a 1790s realm here than any other game on the market--though there are still, of course, MAJOR abstractions and simplifications).
ANYWAY, PLEASE VOTE...RESTART WITH "Quartermaster's Field Pack" MOD? OR NO???

RE: 1792 AltHist-A PBEM
Would this mod be self contained or would it alter files used by other PBEM games people might have ongoing?

I would have to make is self contained. That is the plan. It will have a new name. Probably "1792 QFP".

None of the map modifications are common to all scenarios? They are all contained in the scenario folder? If so I am all for it.
This is the only gave I have going right now anyways, but for those who have multiple PBEMs going the above is probably going to have to be a must.

Yes. It will be a must packing this into a separate Scenario folder. I think it is as easy as dropping the folder into "scenarios".
IF we get most people for this mod, then I think we will try "1792 Poland QFP" again -- or?
I found it interesting that the superfortress symbol is flexible--that is, when you mod them, they appear and disappear depending on where you have placed them.

I'll vote Yes, as much as I hate snow. Particularly realistic snow.
I come down solidly on the side of Consensus and so have no issue with continuing to bash on as we have begun.

I vote yes. I assume we will have to start a new game, and just drop the one we are playing.

Just in case we carry on...
Austria has some concern over the presence of new depots in the border provinces of Walachia and Krakow. His Imperial Majesty needs to know that the intentions of the Esteemed Sultan and the First Consul of Poland continue to be peaceful.
All know that depots can easily represent offensive measures, built in anticipation of Armies who's appearance may have been delayed only by Winter Weather.
It would bode no good for the Future of Europe if the Warsaw Pact states cannot be trusted to maintain a Peace with Austria as all have undertaken to do. Austria has thus far kept all Agreements, formal and Gentleman's and so finds it distressing that its Neighbour's seem intent upon increasing tensions for no apperant reasons.
There may well be legitimate reasons for these depots and His Imperial Majesty's Government are anxious to hear them. We look forward to responses from Turkey and Poland.

Also just in case we carry on.
Turkey has kept her committments to withdraw troops from Austria's borders. However, Austria has granted the Tsar use of Austria's depots and free passage for the Tsar's armies.
This has required Turkey to make defensive deployments. These deployments are not meant to threaten Austria, but to defend agaisnt Russian Armies moving through Austrian territory, if peace efforts fail.
I can assure Franz II that neither Turkey nor its allies have any intention of beginning a war with Austria. But there is no question that tensions have risen because of the inexplicable Austrian decision to supply the Tsar and grant free passage to his armies, which endangers both Turkey and Poland.
Turkey believes that this issue is amenable to a negotiated solution, but such negotiations must be private, so as to avoid any appearance of cheap posturing. If Franz II is amenable to negotiations, I invite him to signify this by PMing me.

I think that we are leaning to re-start with the new mod file. Let me think about this.
I think it might be too bad. But, we can give it a try.
I will tell you within 24 hours.

It would be wrong to change my vote to abort at this stage but the current incarnation of the game has produced some very interesting diplomatic events that might be fun to follow to their conclusions. Just $0.02.
