Land Combat:
Germany

One attack is announced as the Germans seek to break out of the Ardennes

von Rundstedt is called in to provide HQ Support on this one but no aircraft are requested. Odds as they stand are 50:12 (+12.3/17.8B)The French can bring in their Amiot. Do they wish to do so?. The Germans have 2 x 3-strength fighters they may counter with.

Japan

The Japanese announce 3 attacks (see above for details)

Land Combat:
Germany

The fractionals succeed (123 thrown) and the modifiers settle on 18. A 10(23)* is thrown and 2 French are destroyed, the other shattered. I choose not to convert. I assume the ART but Which unit do the French want to survive?

*I threw a 1D10 by mistake. I've re-thrown and the roll was a 19 so as you were.

Edit: To move the game along I am going to save the ART. Rationale: Saving the ART was accepted last time, but more importantly, if Paris survives this turn, the ART can come back to defend the capital.

Rebase:
Italy

Two fighters head south - one to Syracuse and the other to Southern Italy

Germany

Two fighters rebase within range of Paris

Reorganisation: None

That's a shame - I thought I could reorganise the TERR in Libya but it looks like a need two TRS.

End of Turn: Turn ends on less than a 2 (a 2 is thrown)

William, I just wanted to thank you on what I consider a class move! I know there are some players out there that would have effectively eliminated Chaing for the entire game by keeping him "prisoner". That is, never attacking. Thanks again for attacking and giving me the chance to rebuild him. [&o]

Turn 5. May/June. Allied #8

No DOW or alignments.

CW combined
France Land
US Pass

End of turn chance 20%

Portattack:
None

Naval air:
None

Naval moves:
A CW fleet in Port Said moves out into the Eastern Med. As I am staying the the sea I will elect to not intercept in the interest of moving the impulse along.
The dutch SUB moves into the Italian Coast.

Naval combat:
Image

(1) CW does not initiate in Cape St. Vincent.

(2) CW initiates in the Eastern Med

Image

Does Italy want to intercept their FTR in Syracuse to the 0 or 1-box?
Does Italy want to commit their subs in Eastern Med?

(3) CW initiates in the Italian Coast with their lone SUB.
Image

Italy has up to 3 FTR that can react, do any of them want to react?

Turn 5. May/June. Allied #8, part 2

Naval combat continued:
There are actually no CVs on the CW side.
CA Kent flips to initiate combat in the Eastern Med.
Italy does not fly their FTR.
Italian subs do not commit.

Allies rolls 8
Axis rolls 7
No combat.

CW initiates naval combat in the Italian Coast with their lone SUB.
Italy does not commit their FTRs.
CW commits their SUB.
Allies rolls 1
Axis rolls 2
(1) No surprisepoints for some reason I do not understand. Both in the 4-box, I roll 1 better and they have convoys. Why do I not get two surprisepoints?
(2) Another strange thing is that my Dutch sub has Naval attack 3 against the 3 Naval attack of the Italian CA. The program suggests no effect on the CA and an abort my SUB. Why? Should the damage not be symmetrical here?
