You should call them "Zippo" air actions for all of the flamers that don't go out in a wind, unlike other lighters.[;)]

That air round shown earlier WAS NOT fun! Had two units of Fighters to fly CAP. NOT! Didn't happen.

New Caledonia

...on the OTHER HAND...

Taking LaFoa in a 13-1 Assault was LOVELY! Two BBs, 3 CLs, and 11 DDs sank a PT Boat and then bombarded the hex and then the assault went in. Japanese Cas were 97 and 2 Guns while the Allies were forced back losing 2,063 men, 61 Guns, and 43 Vehicles. Four PBY were also destroyed.

NICE!

Noumea is next.

China

After the Central China industrial cities fall, the Japanese move forward in their plans. Each arrow is a multi-divisional force with an Army HQ, IDs, Artillery, and Engineers. We work with stacking limits so that is very important!

Had the influx of over THREE DOZEN Chinese units into eastern Burma NOT OCCURRED, this move would have little hope of success...

We're starting to trade aerial shots in Australia. Had to get my Oscars upgraded to Tojo before that could really get going.

Cooktown, Aust

After sweeping the Allies yesterday and getting stung by B-17s, Japan changes tactics and shifts to only CAP over Cairns and Cooktown. The tactical shifts works as Allied Fighters were busy flying their own CAP and do not escort their own bombers.

The Allied target is Cooktown this day. Three strikes come in and are met by 44 Zeros. The strikes (17 B-26(T)--10 B-17, 9 B-17, and 6 B-17) get mauled. Those TT Optional B-26 are smashed!
