re air losses, all you finding the Ju-88s more vulnerable than in earlier patches? I've really had to move them close to the front or they seem to pick up a lot of operational losses.

3. How many trucks did you manage to capture?

Thanks

I'm still taking heavy losses with Ju -88s even with new patch.

Just went back about 8 to 12 turns, I went from patch 13. to 21. and they are still.

One thing I might point out, when i switched from patch 13 to 21 the first few turns i was getting high losses from supply drops even when these drops were well behind the lines, i sent a few saves to 2 by 3, they got back to me that the issue was the AI was doing supply drops during bad with to level 1 airfields which was giving me a high attrition rate in planes.

Now i didn't really pay attention to specific plane types in those losses, so maybe there are a lot of JU - 88s being lost this way, that's if those planes do supply drops.

Anyway to answer your question still losing JU - 88s

On the subject 2 by 3 is now aware of the supply losses and are looking into how to tell the AI not to fly in bad weather to level 1 bases but it could take a while for a fix.

Just a heads up I am playing against the AI with a difficulty level of 100, to some that would be the easy level.

I appreciate that your interested in the AAR and anyone else for that matter but the truth of the matter is I will win given that the poor AI is running on normal level.

It will be a long long time before I give the AI a higher level, I'm just having fun giving the poor AI a hiding :D

I am happy to provide any info but as I mentioned some time back your way ahead of me in game terms, you took the plunge and played P v P and captured Leningrad !!!! that is big in my Books.

cheers

haha
i am interested in all AARs :)

about Leningrad in pvp game
its a matter of luck for both sides, i feel
if Axis is able to identify week spot in Soviet defense and strike there during initial period of the war then it is much easier to capture
otherwise it might be pretty hard

you are missing 30k trucks in your units

maybe it is worth tracking if you are getting more trucks to a units or truck pool decreases
i am afraid you might have serious problems if your truck pool become too small

unless you plan to finish Soviets soon :)

EDIT

you are still running 3-4 supply priority? probably it is the reason of missing trucks
while your average losses per turn is 2.7k which is not too high

Yeah will have to look at supply situation and maybe change the levels.

Well not planning to finish early as the name of the AAR is about The Caucasus, however If i keep pushing in the North and centre to much I will have to many Victory points.

AG North Turn 54

The Soviets try to launch a counter attack on the the northern front but suffer heavy losses in the process.

I will continue to push forward forcing the AI to send troops North and weakening there southern defences.

AG Centre Turn 54

Kalinin is taken also Klin, konakovo and solnetsnchnogorsk by 6th Korps ( Hube ) and 40th Pz Korps ( Stumme ), 9th Armee continues to push directly towards The Russian Capital.

3rd Pz captures Tula and another big pocket near the city is formed.

There is now a big salient centred around Moscow.

South of Tula another pocket is created trapping 18 Soviet units.

Combining with 4th Pz Armee, 2nd and 4th Armee's nab some more Soviet formations.

AG South Turn 54

In the Donets Basin assaults from all Armies result in heavy Russian losses and 4 units including a Tank Coup are trapped.

Further to the south of Rostov the Axis expand the Kuban force's perimeter wider.

No attacks on Sevastopol as reinforcements arrive.

Supply And Production Turn 54

Well its still good for the troops on the ground but in the Air once again a bad result for the week.

Which brings me to the production and the ever worsening truck issues.

There is barely any improvement , its dropped but not by much despite my rail lines for the most part close to the front lines.

Losses and OB Turn 54

The Soviets lost a lot of manpower this turn and lot of them are going into captivity, on top of that another 220 plus AFV's were destroyed.

The air war this week for the Axis was great losing just 69 aircraft wile the Red Air force got hammered with 330 losses.

The Soviet OB is dropping down rapidly from huge losses taken each week.

AG North Turn 55

Encircling the enemy is getting harder in the North.

Firstly they seem to make rapid retreats and also the lack of mobile troops, since Hube's 6th Korps is on the Moscow front.

Still I am taking lots of territory since the AI is unwilling to put up a line defence.

AG Centre Turn 55

The pockets North and South of the Moscow salient are destroyed and 9th Armee has reached Moscow as khimki and Manikhino are taken.

Further south of 3rd Pz Armee, 4th Armee and 2nd Pz destroy the encircled troops there then envelop another 2 big pockets.

It seems on the face of it that the Red Army is collapsing in disarray with discipline and cohesion breaking down.

AG South Turn 55

The drive in the south continues as 2nd, 6th and 4th Pz Armee's moved towards The Oskol river.

The trapped forces in the Rostov Region are defeated and 1st Pz units cross The Don river near Rostov itself.

With the advance of 11th Armee and the Hungarians the Red Army rushes troops there to try to hold the advance.

On the Black Sea the port of Gelendzhik is isolated.

I launch a attack against the last holdouts in the Crimea, but they hold again.

Losses And OB Turn 55

The Soviets lost even more men this turn however less Tanks this time round with only 195.

Lost a lot of Level Bombers this turn 49 which is really odd as going through the numbers and counting them I have suppose to have lost 61 planes and yet down the bottom its says my total losses were 100, these figures don't seem to match up.

The OB looks great I am finally on a level playing field with the Red Army.

logistics situation looks interesting, you have about 90% truck/unit ratio and are over-supplying vs demand.

I'd say the first is not that much of a surprise, damaged trucks are slow to repair and if you are advancing in general I'd expect newly damaged to exceed repairs. There is also some friction in getting repaired trucks to units.

the over supply is interesting, I've only tended to see that much when falling back and with limited actual fighting. You can't squeeze unit-depot truck transfers by the usual way (ie drop unit supply priority) so wonder if you might drop the volume of high priority depots at the front, that might hold more freight back? Can't think of much else you can try to do (& that is a pretty unusual option given the normal dynamics)

I will take a look at my supply deports, the Northern front is pretty much finished, in the centre I will be focusing on encircling Moscow and Soviet Army itself, which will mean limited movement to trap and destroy enemy units then fall back behind defensive lines.

The real push will be in the South to the oilfields.

AG North Turn 56

Once again in the Far North no real resistance and what there is I just attack and the enemy units route back into the interior.

In this area Army Group North's stop line will run from Vytegra through Cherepovets to Rybinsk.

I wont go any further than that, apart from the Leningrad to Moscow rail line there only single gauge lines further up and not a lot of them at that.

AG Centre Turn 56

The Panzer's of Hube's 6th Korps have reached the Kremlin, Mytischi is taken, the Northern arm of the pincer is in position.

All I need now is the Southern arm to close the trap.

The bulk of 3rd Pz Armee has to be redeployed to strike and the Russians are throwing everything they have into the line to stall the drive.

This may take a bit as the AI seems to be willing to sacrifice units just to stall the inevitable, as it seems after clearing the pockets from the last turn, The Red Army has sent more POW's for me to capture.
