Both Port Swettenham and Bukit Besi (both in Malayas) have 600 Res Centers EACH, producing 12,000 res per turn each. No LI to repair in Malayas, so this res surplus is kinda wasted by Jap player there. However, as Larry Silverstein would say, you have to PULL IT, possibly via the PaxMondo's magic highway all the way to Japan to boost LI production in the Home Islands.

Imho these number of res are too high, YES there was raw materials and mining in the area in 1930ties already but numbers seem too high. Also the "magic highway" will not work anymore at all, cause rail links are broken now in this new beta plus you have a huge swampy area running through the middle of occupied China which takes a "while" to get through. As I said already severall measures on the map slow the Japanese down. Which must be a good thing, the tempo was too high for both sides imho anyways I googled eg. the port Swettenham (now named different) and even today it is a major container terminal - interesting what one learns from the game

For some of us with eyesight or mouse aiming problems, it was too easy to disband a TF with a mouse click when you intended to hit the line above or below. For me it is the proportional mouse movement that Windows uses - move the mouse fast and it accelerates so that it goes beyond the distance you intend, and if you click too quickly ...
So the Y/N requirement was put in as an alternative to moving the disband text elsewhere. It is all in this thread somewhere.

Well the buttons are generally a bit too small... however I hope you know that you can configure your mouse in Windows? You can choose speed and acceleration etc. (in the system tab - Systemsteuerung)

Here is another thing I noticed which may have been introduced ? More danger of ops losses in transfer flights? Esp. in bad weather. I now have fear transfering planes and I do not even do this over long distances I guess the transport ops losses are not changed and kind of "WAD"
Edit and another: Noted ops losses of RUSSIAN fighters.. as if they transfer? ASFAIK the Russians stay put if not activated or attacked Or FOW? Well I will attack the Soviets in this game for sure

A77, even if not activated, the Russians can train and gain experience including flying CAP missions over their base. That is likely where the Ops losses came in.

The buttons were originally designed for a resolution 800x600, perfectly sized waaaaay back then.

I could post quite a lengthy post just listing all the very minor OB changes I use in customized mods. Here's one more:

AD-1001 - A 1000 ton floating dock Australia built for use in Darwin harbour. Completed on 3 Oct 1941 it was present when Darwin was attacked on 19 Feb 1941. HMAS Katoomba was in the floating dock during during the attack. The floating dock survived all 64 of Japan's follow-on attacks on Darwin.

Cannot say that there was no Civilian ship Regulus active in the Pacific, but the Regulus present at Wake on 7 Dec 41 was USS Regulas (AK-14). Currently starts at San Diego.

USS Sepulga (AO-20) missing, was a Patoka-class oiler enroute from LA to Pearl Harbor on 7 Dec 41.

USS Boreas (AF-8) missing, was in San Francisco on 7 Dec 41. Her sister ships of the Arctic-class (Arctic, Yukon) appear in games as Regulus-class AG. The three ships had been purchased in 1921 and converted to stores ships with one entire hold setup to carry a few hundred tons of frozen cargo.

USS Gills (AVD-12) missing, a Clemson-class APD stationed at Kodiak Island and at Yakutat harbor on 7 Dec 41.

USS Kaula (AG-33) missing, en route to Palmyra from Pearl Harbor with supplies on 7 Dec 41.

HMS Rover (N62) missing, a Rainbow-class submarine at Singapore on 7 Dec 41. Engines had been badly damaged during the Battle of Crete and sent to Singapore for repair. Only Rainbow-class submarine to survive the war, she was towed to Bombay to have her repairs completed. Repairs dragged out until Dec 44 do to replacement machinery to be shipped from the UK. Operated out of Trincomalee for anti-submarine training. Could just leave out completely, or hypothetically higher priority being assigned and being repaired earlier, commander had originally estimated repairs should only take 90 days in Singapore once docked (Guessing the machinery required for repairs existed in Singapore).

2nd Filipino Infantry Battalion missing, arrives San Francisco for deployment Jun 44. There were originally two Filipino Infantry Regiments raised. The 2nd was broken up and personnel used for various duties associated with the planned invasion of the Philippines. (Among these duties were to bring the 1st Filipino Inf Rgt up to 125% strength. I've seen references to this before but cannot find an official source, apparently at some point in the war all US combat units deploying overseas were brought up to 125% strength to absorb losses.)

The British had a prewar agreement on wartime cooperation with the Dutch ML-KNIL. This included such things as pre-positioning a few hundred tons of British aerial bombs on Dutch air bases and four Dutch air units operating out of Singapore once a war started with Japan (only three were deployed). Since it is not possible to move ML-KNIL units to Singapore, recommend they appear in Singapore:

During WWII British XXX Corps was written 30 Corps.

I do have a collection of references materials (some Pre-WWII, lot's of WWI and Cold War), all the references for the information posted is the internet.

It's amazing how many government records and official histories have been digitized and are available online and there are reliable sites with quite valuable information. The problem is finding them and then re-finding them later. Since I started researching this OB back when WitP was first released and the research was just for me, I didn't properly track sources for the information. Limited my recommendation above to changes I could find reliable sources for.

Wikipedia is incredibly reliable and at least for plain history I've never found a major discrepancy. I always start from Wikipedia and use that as a start point. Always try to find find sources that confirm and expand on Wikipedia since there are little errors here and there.

No idea if what I post is useful. I have more, of course.

Yes. That hexside is where the estuary to the Rangoon River is located, which blocks land movement. The land on either side of the estuary blocks naval movement.

Yes, the information Orabera has posted is excellent and useful. I am only going to add some of it to the scenario updates, however, as there is a lot there, and I don't have a lot of free time. A lack of free time is also partly why the update process is taking so long. I was originally only working on map updates, but because some others are busy I am also now working on scenario updates. That is not normally something I do, but I am getting close to finishing the updates based on the feedback in this thread.

Tons of tiny little corrections and updates here and there, nothing that really changes the balance, just makes me comfortable that it's more correct, according to me.
