Hi, And that last post furthered improvement to WITP How? And it will lead to a better next game how? But it did afford you one more shot at GG right?

Listen up. With both ears. I've bought a lot of Grigsby games over the years. And enjoyed most of them. I've also donated my time and energy to help him get some of his titles out. For free. These last two of his on the Pacific have disappointed me. Maybe because they have so much unrealized potential, maybe because I'm getting old and I'm afraid this will be the last time around for me, and maybe just because I'm . . . getting old. I don't know. I do know they don't work for me, and I've painstakingly pointed out why they don't work for me. In an articulate fashion. Over and over. As have others. And we all can't be making it up. Well, I guess we all could be making it up, but then I know for a fact that I am not making it up, so right away there goes the "all" part after all.

Now, as I view it that amounts to one long record of good service rendered by me gratis for Gary and Joel and Matrix and the hobby in general. I wish you could see it that way but I realize you can't. And that's a crying shame. But if it gets too bad for you, if it comes down to where you just can't stand it anymore . . . well, then maybe you should go see a doctor.

Hi, Explain to me again how your playing a game in the past is working for gratius for gary Joel and Matrix and the hobby in general? You mean because I've played wargames for 30 years something is owed to me?

You're putting words in my mouth. All I said is why I (possibly) feel the way I feel, and why I think the way I think with regard to how the model ought to be portrayed vis-a-vis what we actually have.
how your posts help? I don't give a hoot about games you've played or tested this is the WITP forum and you don't post much anyone connected to the game can use for changing it "Supply broken, air model broken, landcombat broken, AI broken" is not "rendering a service" to anyone at all. You don't bother me but thanks for worrying about that. just don't make sense to me.

That is apparent. And I can't help you. Seek resolution elsewhere, Russ.

If what I write makes no sense to people, perhaps all the people all the time for all I know, then I can't help that. I can only control what I do, I can only control what I think. As far as that goes, I really don't want anyone else to necessarily think as I do, for it could be I have the world's largest hole right smack dab in the center of my head, and you see I wouldn't want that on my conscience.
How about rather then pointing out what is wrong. You fix it. Since you can't fix WITP you need to fix everything broken here in a new program that Mr Frag is willing to pay for if you just write the directions the programmers must follow. That is what you have been asking for since before UV. That programmers follow your directions. I wish you well in the project. Really I am behind you all the way.

Everything you've ever asked for is being offered. What more do you want?

I want to know . . .
...what salvation must be like after a while....

But seriously, that's probably the reason this game turned out so bad. Gary just plunged ahead with his little head already full of his "design document" (based on his other similar Pacific systems) without any thought whatsoever if that made a whole lot of sense.
I will have to search a bit, but that is probably the most arrogant thing I've seen posted on the boards in a long time.

Whatever. Should you ever wake up for real, though, be sure to open your eyes. The view is terrific.

Hi, Bad TJ there are children here.

TJ(covering up with the curtain): The Great TJ has spoken. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain....the...Great...er...TJ has spoken.
Mr Frag (pulling aside the curtain and reprimanding): Who are you?
TJ: (stuttering) I, I, I am the Great and Powerful Programmer of TJ.
Mr Frag: You are! I don't believe you.
TJ: I'm afraid it's true. There's no other programmer except me.
NIK: You humbug.
OZ: Yeah.
TJ: Yes. That's exactly so. I'm a humbug.
Mr Frag: (scolding) Oh, you're a very bad man!
TJ(sadly): Oh, no, my dear, I...I'm a very good man - I'm just a very bad programmer.
NIK (angrily): What about the supply system that you promised OZ, and the air model that you promised Mogami...
Mogami: And NIK's brain?
TJ: I'm sorry, I seem to be out of brains. But here's a piece of paper I doodled on yesterday. That should be an improvement.
NIK:is this local supply or imported?
Mr Frag:Hey thats his "Design document"
Mogami:Beer?
NIK:If i only had a brain....i'd be darrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.........programmmin......code easy...........c=logistics /a +oregeno ^xyz
TJ: Yes, that's a good boy. Now run along.
Mr Frag:Well thats ok but what about our game?

53k US but doesn't really matter ... my coders are in India and that $2,371,525.72 rupees

You better write a good design document, they are good coders in India, but they are only as good as the directions given them. There is still communications issues that have caused a number of companies to pull back to the states.

Lets see morale and experience of indian units is not specified, Uncle Gupta always told me we were the best.. Indian brigades 100%[:D]

Yep, been there, done that ...worked out all them kinks ... now I get exactly what i need in record time and the code quality is fantastic.

I'm offering to pay for all the coding ... I'm sure Matrix will publish it ... come on ... all I want is the rules (aka design document)

Genuine comedy, that! [:D]

My opinion (and it ain't worth much) is that I'd like to see an AAR, see the points raised in action, and the subsequent discussion. If Ron wants to play CHS then I can't really see the problem as the supply in that is reduced anyway.

I respect Ron and TJ for putting forth their views. (I wish TJ would do so in a less condescending way at times) Now they have a chance to demonstrate their opinions and I am interested to see the results. I hope they go ahead with this.

I hope so, too. But I haven't heard from Ron for an hour or so. Maybe he escaped.

Come out, come out, wherever you are and meet the young programmer,
who fell from a star.
He fell from the sky, he fell very far and Kansas, he says,
is the name of the star.
Kansas, he says, is the name of the star.
He brings you good news. Or haven't you heard?
When he fell out of Kansas
A miracle occurred.

Hi, Here is TJ finally getting NIK to understand the new airmodel.
