RE: Bill tastes the sweet flavour of VICTORY!
Perhaps Bill might want to enlighten us with his logistical situation, especially since he does not yet have the DEI under the rising sun entirely at this point. Be interesting if his supply situation was acceptable given the DEI's resources were the main reason historically for Japan to go to war in the first place.
The supply situation is a little low but we will get by. Since the auto resupply will not pick up resources and oil I have had to manually pick these items up. I was slow to react to this problem so I am a little behind in the transport of said items.

Yep, level 0. Well, Noumea and Manila held out a long time at level 0. Never know with this land combat "design".

I'm on the verge of another rant! I can't control myself...[:@][8D] Might take a few turns but it is inevitable
Batavia holds out for another day.
Bill appears to be making some sort of banzai charge with minelayers around Timor...to what end I'm not sure. Perhaps he wants to train my bomber pilots with some realistic exercises.

Hi Ron,
I've been following this off & on for a while. I'm impressed that you're still fighting in the DEI in Sept. 42!
Question for you. (Not to prove any point, I'm just curious.) I'm playing the same scenario and in late Feb 42 I've already shipped in 50+k supply to Java from India and am currently out of fuel at Soerabaja (more about to arrive, also from India). Have you done similarly or have you kept Java supplied from the DEI too?
Hi! Yeah, I've been on and off with the upkeep as well...hard to constantly maintain an AAR. Up until about July, absolutely nothing was shipped to Java from anywhere outside the DEI. I was trying to prove a point that supply should be seperated from resources and made much less available in areas where there is no industry and manpower. I shipped in hordes of supply from Balikpapan, Tarakan, and Kendari and fuel from Tarakan, Balikpapan and Palembang. Not only was the DEI fully built up with DEI supply gained at barren resource sites, Singapore and Manila were supplied with enough to keep them going as long as they lasted...months past their historical surrender dates thanks to add water and stir supply. Shipped all the resources and oil to OZ.
Now I'm shipping some supply from India or OZ, mainly because I need cargo ships to haul the resources so I may as well bring supplies in on the way. Same with fuel, except that goes mainly to Northern OZ as opposed to Java.
Glad you are finding it interesting. Hopefully my crusty demeanour is not too overwhelming.[:D]
I missed your reply until now - thanks.
While I have to say that I'm more forgiving of the game's weaknesses than you are, I mostly get a kick out of your "crusty demeanour". [:)]
As far as the AAR goes, I also have to say that I like the pics you dig up. Are they all off the web or do you have other sources?

They are all off the web as my library is all in storage pending my move to Greece. Glad you like my sense of humour, or lack of it sometimes.[;)]

Pure gamesmanship.
More fun and games. It is a distinct pleasure to be playing Bill as my opponent. Makes dealing with the many game mechanic flaws and bugs that much easier.

Morning Bill. Guess what? We have another major bug/movement issue. Bit of killer as it is so screwy I can't manipulate it. I therefore have to once again appeal to your gamesmanship and ask you to move your troops back to Merak from Batavia to shake the bug loose. Here is what is happening. Those units that got kicked into the frigging jungle from Merak...well, they won't head for Bandoeng despite me picking Bandoeng repeatedly. Instead of heading SE, they have headed E to Batavia first, and then are set to move to Bandoeng. This should be impossible as you have that piddly unit in the jungle and units in Batavia but they are doing it anyway des[pite the ZOC rules which say it won't happen. Now they are stuck on the 59/60 mark for almost a week and there is nothing I can do. They should be in Bandoeng at the moment but the mechanics are pathetic.
Once they get to Batavia I'll move them to Bandoeng, you can reenter Batavia, and we will be all set. Nothing will change, all will be as it should be.
Thanks, Ron
Already moving.
Bill

RE: Pure gamesmanship.
Not much going on except the usual. As with Kendari and Amboina, Lautem is now pretty much untenable as an airbase. Nothing like pounding the snot out of ground pounders with aircraft.[:)]

I said I would post some info on supply status. Mine are not as good looking as Ron. [&o]
I failed in many areas in this game. The main thing is I am having fun and we are trying to work through some bugs as we go.

RE: Pure gamesmanship.
Just curious ADM Halsey,
In your 2nd game, why are you not speeding up some of your build rates for naval shipping like DDs & CVs? Did you increase your Naval Shipyards any? +70k is a lot of points[:D]
