So hope we win June 1st. Everyone thinks it's a done deal. Just hope our recent form has no relevance. Liverpool aren't a bogey team like Chelsea are so that's good.
I hope City winning the premier makes Liverpool to desperate and so make mistakes.
Pressure is more on the Reds than Spurs.

Well I agree the smart money is on Liverpool given the superior squad, the high pressing game, the fact they finished so many points ahead of us in the League, they play fast, exciting football too.
I think losing the league like they did can go one of two ways, as you say they may be desperate or they may be more determined.
However I have no idea where the idea that Liverpool aren't a bogey team comes from. The semi-finals of the UEFA Cup 1973 we lost to Liverpool, the first time we ever lost a domestic cup final - 1982 - was to Liverpool. We went from 1912 to ? 70 odd years without being able to beat them at Anfield, they've won 82 games compared to our 48.
Yes I desperately hope we can pull off a miracle - but it will be a genuine miracle if we do win it...

What's the latest with Spurs injury list? Vertonghen to return isn't that right, Kane a doubt. Other than that?
Reds pretty much with the full squad, apart from Firmino who's a doubt. A key player, unnoticed by many non Reds fans perhaps, but whenever he's missed a game he just can't be replaced, whatever is out there is a compromise. I just love him to bits, our crazy Brazilian.
It is just one game, form goes off, one little mistake or stroke of luck, that's it, maybe. Haven't been this nervous before a game of football since, well, the previous game.
I have no idea how I could handle yet another final loss so make it 1-2 to Reds with a last minute no-look goal by Bobby
Come on you Redmen !!!

Current injured appears to be Kane, Winks, Vertonghen, Aurier, Sanchez
Of these, Aurier appears to be long term, Winks has had an operation, Kane is on the road to recovery but won't be match fit (interestingly both Kane and Winks have been included in the Nations League squad), Sanchez and Vertonghen I don't know the extent of their injuries. Sanchez missed the Ajax game and Vertonghen was injured during it (but played on in the second half with it and no doubt made it worse).

In recent years we have beat them in the league. That's what I mean. Unlike Chelsea who we always seem to lose against. Season before I think we drew and thrashed them. You're going way back. It's over recent years that count.Liverpool is a team we have beat in recent seasons (not last, but close). Again unlike Chelsea or City who we always seem to lose against. I just hope it's a good match with lots of fantastic goals.
Living in the wrong city for this. Though Evertonians are desperate for us to win.
One other thing, whenever Liverpool have been on a great run but then have a break under Klop it doesn't go to well. Fingers crossed.
Think Son may have a big part to play.
Pressure is on Liverpool. Spurs should be relaxed, happy to be in final.
We bought no new players. Still managed 4th (just) and got to final of champions league! That's pretty bloody amazing.

Agreed, Spurs seem to be the team Klopp struggles against every time. This season should really have been two draws apart from refs bottling a clear penalty call at Wemberley, and a freak goal at Anfield. Last season you beat us 4-1 at Wembley, again (and what a nightmare that was), while at Anfield it was 2-2 (and what a nightmare that was too).
Two good proper attacking teams at the final as far as I am concerned, living by their means, something rare today.
My previous boss was a huge Spurs fan and a season ticket holder, took me to WHL a couple of times I was in London, back in the early 00s when I worked for a US company with European HQ at London. What a great place it was, would be fun to see the new stadium some day. Against Toffees, perhaps?

Well there is no set definition so if you think they are not a bogey team then no problem. But to me - probably because I remember the 70's and 80's so vividly, they will always be a bogey team.
More recent record? The last 7 years in the Premiership tell a familiar story:
Spurs - 1 win
Liverpool - 9 wins
Draws - 4

Unusually in recent years, yes very happy. People go on about us not winning a trophy but I think finishing in too four for the last four seasons is like winning a trophy each season. I really don't think we can ask for more than that regarding finishing in the table. I bet City and Chelsea couldn't do it without the money. Why I'd like to see Liverpool win league out of all the other too clubs, nothing to do with a sugar daddy. I hate Chelsea, City, United and Arsenal. I like the original world famous English team Liverpool though.l
Funny up here every season I'm constantly told our manager will go or Kane will go. To be honest Kane leaving wouldn't bother me compared to Poch. I still feel Kane has over achieved. Not sure what it is.

Spurs - 1 win

Klopp joined 'pool on Oct 5, 2015. His very first game vs Spurs was at WHL barely a week later. 0-0. Then, 1-1 at Anfield in April. 2016-2017 season begun by another 1-1 at WHL, followed by a 2-1 victory by Reds at Anfield.
Onward and forward: 2017-2018 begun by a thorough 4-1 thumping at WHL by you lot, followed by a 2-2 draw at Anfiled. At this stage it is three draws and victory each, although yours a complete shredding.
Then, into this season: 1-2 at Wembley and a penalty not given to Spurs, and 2-1 at Anfield, decided by a freak own goal at dying minutes by Alderweireld.
All this totals at four draws, one Spurs victory, and three Reds victories all of them by one goal (and with two of those victories under dubious circumstance).
It is much closer than what you make it sound, with Poch being Klopp's Babu Yaga if anything.
Time to get nervous

Liverpool rightly favorites. Pressure should be more on Liverpool than Spurs. I hope it's a great game with good goals. It's possible Spurs may win, it's not beyond them, so that's good enough for me.

We support different teams, and we are entitled to our own view on what we think will happen.
If you think that there is no impending doom and that this is going to be much closer than I think then that is fine.
If you wish to forget bogey teams, if you wish to forget recent history then also fine (though I don't agree).
But, if you look instead at just this season then you have all you need to know that Liverpool are massive favourites:
- a 26 point difference in the league
- Liverpool destroyed Barcelona and Messi (at home), and Porto - while Spurs scrapped past Ajax and Man City on away goals.
- Liverpool have lost just one game since the beginning of January (and that was the first leg against Barce) - this is a team that has almost forgotten how to lose - and finished the season with 97 points.
- Spurs form in 2019 fell off a cliff. If the season started with 14 games to go, Spurs would be 15th out of 20 - just 5 points off relegation. To put that into perspective, they are on a worse run even than Manchester United [:D].
- Liverpool beat us twice already this season
- Liverpool players have the greater big match experience - Liverpool were here just 12 months ago. Spurs have been in no final for 5 years - and that was the Carabao Cup.
- Klopp has experience of managing clubs to the highest trophies incl. the Champions League - Poch has never won a trophy.
- Look at the strength in depth of the two squads. If Spurs injured players are back, then the first XI is not that much worse in comparison (although Kane won't be match fit at best). But the bench? There is no contest.
I don't expect you to agree, you are a Liverpool fan and approaching the game as best you think fit, but please don't suggest on form, on experience, on quality of squads, on managerial experience or on player experience, this is remotely close.
This is football, sometimes what is correct on paper does not happen in actuality - but very often it does - ask Watford [;)]

Warspite you really aren't sounding like a Spurs fan. I feel we do have a chance, not a big one granted. However it's possible we can win.
Let's just hope both teams play well and lots of goals and exciting match. A Red said to me the other day if Spurs win I'll be made up for them. He said There is no other team he'd say that about. He said what I say Spurs and Liverpool do it the old way, no sugar daddy here. Done through talent.
All the houses are putting out their flags, well the Reds anyway.
As a Spurs fan, just getting to final and finishing again in top four author buying a single new player is amazing. I see top four finish like winning a trophy.
Do wish Liverpool had the goalkeeper from last year though.
As for Klopp being tactical genius he has lost every final been in (probably just jinxed that now), Last year he should have noticed his goalkeeper bottle had gone before set foot in pitch. Also to stick with Minulay (probably spelt wrong) so long raised my eyebrow a few times. I was certain Liverpool would win last year. Spurs had drew and beat Real that season. Though taking out Sahla was cheating.

Well I hope my previous post didn't rub anyone the wrong way, was not my intention. I wrote that I wouldn't know how to live with two final losses in a row, but that's all I meant. It is a worthy final in all sense of the word, two clubs living by their means without any sugar daddies (or sugar states even).
Simon Mignolet is the second keeper you refer to. A top professional in attitude at least, if not in pure skills.
Hopefully we see a game with both teams with as good a starting XI as possible.

I haven't said we can't win it. I am a Spurs fan of almost 50 years - I am just realistic to avoid even more pain and hurt than necessary.
