PzB, what do your aircraft pools look like?  Just curious as to how long you can sustain losses like that....

Well Roma's B turret is missing... but she dose not look so heavly damaged... Superstructure looks more or less intact... so why so many people have died??

Roma's B Turret was blown off by her forward magazine erupting. That explosion caused the heavy loss of life.

Yes, I'm afraid it was one of those most unfortunate events that happends in war - especially when the enemy enjoys full supremacy in
the air and on the sea! [:(]

We always find ways to improvise our way out of difficulties and Andy has still not gotten anything for free in this war [8D]
Appreciate the support Vetamur - and everyone else! We won't be broken easily and I'm confident that we can deny the Bonins to the enemy for
a long long time to come. If he really wants one or both of the islands we will make it so costly for him that he regrets that he ever set foot on imperial soil [:-]

No time for turn today, moving week and I'm pre-occupied by a thousand things.
Zeke, Oscar, Tony, Frances and Betty pools are empty but we're producing 600 Zekes, 200 Tony 100, 130 Frances, 280 Oscars, 220 Bettys, 500 Franks, 220 Jacks each month. Still got plenty Jacks, Franks and George fighters in the pools. This production capacity makes it possible to replace most ac losses, even though pilot quality suffers. We can keep this up for the remainder of the war if Andy isn't allowed to bomb our industry into the dust. The Shinden will prevent that from mid 45, so I'm vastly confident [8D]

It IS not always too interesting to fight a defensive war when the enemy is on the offensive all over the map.
Will do good with a little break from WitP this week! Might pop in with the occasional turn though and throw another spanner into Andy's machinery!

More losses in ships and men - but cadre units from the convoy has been landed and 8 it looks like 8
transports may get away. I discovered that quite few units that were evacuated from Borneo have been rebuilt
at Soerabaja, this base had over 1100 AP. Moving 600 AP to Batavia and flying them to Indochina and Burma instead.
This together with reinforcements from Miri will replace the troops from the lost convoy.

Andy's carriers gave chase after the Taiho raiding group all the way towards Northern Japan. He didn't manage to
overtake though and our ships are safe.

Iwo has 112k supplies and 20k unloading. Boning holds 77k and more are enroute. Seems like the enemy will use only
heavy bombers to suppress us in the time to come, allowing us to keep supply levels up and bring in more troops.

Rebuilding of Air Force and Navy well under way. Building an air reserve in Tokyo.
In 1-2 days we upgrade to our first Tony-100 unit.

Andy withdraws his carriers and our remaining transports are safe! [&o]

I will attempt to cut the enemy forces in Bangkok of and force Andy to supply them by air.
It's a dangerous game, but we're outnumbered.

The new divisions in Kwantung as small and unexperienced. Not enough forces to man more than
one defensive line I'm afraid. We will dig in in the mountain hexes and fall back to our MLR
when the Bolsheviks attack!

Upgraded the first Sentai with the Ki-100 Tony!

Got several hundred short legged Ki-60's to upgrade, so it's a good thing even though
the top speed isn't very high.

Now there are only 3 designs left to research:
1. Zeke A6M8 - not much of an upgrade really
2. Reppu - should be a good ac, but I don't have many units that upgrades to it!
3. Shinden - our last chance to reverse the fortunes in A2A combat!

As far as I know all units that upgrade to the A6M8 do upgrade later to the A7M2. So you should at least allow some production of the A6M8 to transit those units to the A7M2.

I cant find a speed for the Ki-61 KAIc.. the Ki-61-1c had a top speed of 348mph (560 kph). The Ki-100 1a had a top speed of 367mph(590kph). Note that that is the speed for a -61 at 5000meters, but the speed for the -100 at  10,000 meters..

also..the range numbers seems wrong above.. the Ki-61 had a range of 1100 miles.. the -100 had a range of about 1250.. so it shouldnt be THAT different...

The Ki-61 KAIc was a fighter bomber and was about the same speed as the Ki-61-Ic despite its slightly heavier weight and greater drag imposed by wing racks. The stretching of the tail section also helped dampen a high speed elevator flutter.

The Ki-100 was powered with a Ha-112-H 1500hp radial. This was a very large but reliable radial that imposed a lot of drag. Therefore it was slower than the Ki-61-II but faster than the Ki-61 KAIc with their inverted vee 1450hp Ha-140 engine.

The Ki-100 had a top speed of about 367mph and the Ki-61-II had a top speed of about 379mph.

I'm back after a couple of strenous moving days! [8D]
PC and new 6mbps up/down fiber con - v Check
32" LCD tv and cable tv - v Check
Large fridge w/beer - v Check

Ready for action [:D]

Thx for the input on the Tony! Think it has been upgraded in the latest stock versions.
Historically there were a multitude of Tony versions, for Japan the only one worth anything
needs range, big guns and speed. Not bombs.

Enemy offensives in Burma are escalating. Doubt we can hold, the question is how long we can
stall the enemy. Supported by 1000 ac we're sitting duck, but we got heavy forts. Let's hope
we can wear our the enemy army and fight contracted campaign.

The Air Force in Burma will attempt to punish the enemy task forces moving towards Bangkok.

In the Bonins the enemy's pounding of Bonin has slackened for a couple of days; enough for our
engineers to re-open parts of the airfields. Moving heavily armed interceptors there we hope to
punish the unescorted heavies coming in from Wake and Marcus!
