To speed the loading time, do what others (and I do) and never quit it.

Hmmm, not a good idea when living in a country where 1 hour of 1KW electricity costs around 23-25 Eurocent [:D] . But at least I can start loading when I get home, have dinner in between, and start playing afterwards. BTW, the tracker has just loaded the tables in 2638 seconds ... [;)]

Thanks for your work on it - it´s very much appreciated. The tracker is a very valuable tool for playing this monster of a game :) .
Cheers

Martin, how far are you into your game? Many times a slow load of Tracker is due to a large database. If this is your situation, you might consider archiving the existing database files and reinitializing them. (There are, of course, other causes, so this may or may not help you.)

Yeah, if you always shut down your PC, then you're right -- I almost never shut down; I typically "hibernate", which leaves all programs still running. Every few weeks I do a reboot when things get slow.
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

I have found that I have the best load times if I load Tracker before WitP:AE. I also can load more turns that way without out of memory errors. I do use the nomap option also. I have 3 PBEM games going and I can't really let them all stay running.
I think that the two obligations you have are to be good at what you do and then to pass on your knowledge to a younger person

This may very well be the case. I´m in late 1943 now, so the DB must be huge. Will check that and see if it helps.

database error... "exiting" [;)]

Last turn's tracker results were surprisingly short.

Not sure. Try moving the trackerdb.backup file to some other folder and see if the program starts up.

Okay, I don't know what may have happened, but this error appears to be from the DB tool we use (HSQLDB). That makes it pretty difficult (impossible?) for me to debug.

So a new installation is needed?

Any idea what my issue here is? I have copied the password file from the WITPAE directory and I have updated java to 64 bit several times now. This screen is running the batch file. When I execure the jar file I get a Java (TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working warning window.

Not a new install, but maybe a fresh (new) database.

Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Our support page should tell you that Java 64 bit is not what you need. You need Java 32 bit Version 6 NOT 7. You can have both running but must point to the 32 bit installation.

Thanks! That appears to have done it. I was missing the "click here if you just must install Java 6 against our advice" radio button on the Java download site, but had otherwise been following the instructions and was getting frustrated.

Ran out of memory. Try editing your witpracker.bat file and increase each of the two memory values by 128, i.e.:

-Xms512m -Xmx640m
