• 1 enemy unit in the mountains near Kunming.

• 8 enemy units off road west of Chengtu and Neikiang.

• 1 enemy unit just west of Chengtu.

• 4,022 AV at Chengtu. Results were very good today with fortification reduction, casualties, and odds all in our favor. Attack continues tomorrow.

• The experienced Chinese Army units from the Chungking plain will begin marching into the railhead at Tuyun in a day or two.

• Allied forces continue passing through the railhead at Hengyang, moving by truck to support the spearhead.

• The enemy Bde continues moving out of Foochow. Hope for them to complete that movement before our troops enter the city.

• Tanks from the Chungking plain heading for Wenchow to help start the attack.

• USA brigades ex-Okinawa heading for Hangchow to help secure that place and the supply route.

• 36th Indian Division needs about 4 or 5 days to join the spearhead at Hangchow.

• A base force and engineer units are already on trucks moving to Hangchow. The defenders there had finished repairs for us, so building will begin straight away.

• Another wave of units is marching out of Chungking in two different directions.

• We lost 30x B-29 today.

• Fires at Tokyo are 5.

• Fires at Osaka/Kyoto are 45,464.

• The B-29's will stand down to recover.

• Fuchin, 90 miles behind enemy lines, capitulated today. STAVKA analysts predict this will shatter enemy morale across the front.

• The armored and mechanized spearhead of 2,100 AV south of Tamsag has found no enemy positions in the forest after crossing into Manchuria (from China proper), and will push on straight to Fusin.

• Only infantry units will continue moving into the swamps across the river from Khabarovsk, Bikin, and Iman. All others advancing will entrain, move to Rybolov, and meet them after they push through the nasty terrain.

• We have a little recon here and there now; no impressive enemy defenses seen so far.

• Our destroyers from the galactic periphery are south of Shikuka but found no enemy commerce there. They will flee in case enemy carriers decide to pursue.

• Just to refresh memories, these are the assignments for the first target set in the Home Islands, Kanoya and the two islands closest where supporting air bases can be built. Assault shipping is on the way to pick them up.

• Getting as many as possible of the latest model Corsair onto the fleet carriers.

• Bearcat is in production @215/month but still too few on hand to fill out a squadron. Maybe by sailing time we will have the first squadron upgraded.

• There are 399 fighters seen by recon at Nagasaki/Sasebo. Tomorrow we will send 200 fighters to sweep that hornet's nest.

• The B-24 horde which has been suppressing defenses at Chengtu is transferring to the Ryukyu Islands to take up aerial bombardment of targets on Kyushu. Considering aircraft in maintenance it will take some time before the groups are up to full strength, so operations will begin before then.

Were you able to block the hex between Hangchow and Shanghai to keep the Hangchow defenders from retreating there? Not that they will have much AV left, but finishing them off is better done anywhere else rather than the Urban Heavy terrain of Shanghai.

I didn't capture the town immediately SE, so they retreated there. Sweet!

I'm going to leave them and just block them until Shanghai is ours.

They lost a bunch, as you saw. I'm doing a turn now and they wrought some carnage. Fewer losses with higher altitude, but still significant. This turn 25x Helen, 10x Frances, 4x Peggy.

• Fires at Tokyo appear to be out.

• Fires at Osaka/Kyoto are 12,293.

• It appears our fighter sweeps of Nagasaki/Sasebo were locked out by weather. Orders remain for tomorrow, plus an additional 150 fighters on Iwo-jima and Chichi-jima have been ordered to join in.

• Fusan harbor has been mined.

• Part of our strategy is to seize Mutankiang, Harbin, and Hailar, giving us a north-south rail line bisecting enemy territory.

• Our troops will probably cross the border just NE of Rashin tomorrow.

• Our troops heading for may begin crossing the border tomorrow.

• Soviet bombers will mine the ports of Ominato and Wakkanai tomorrow.

• We lost a DD and an xAKL, and a TK (that possibly due to a search plane).

• A whole bunch of AA units are railing into Vladivostok, of course, what will be left by then? So, for tomorrow we will have 317+ fighters and 135+ fighter bombers on CAP to see if they can first, outlast the sweeps and second, turn back the bombers.

• Our own sweeps over Nagasaki/Sasebo went better, with all the groups from the Bonin Islands going in, but alas the groups from Amami Oshima did not. Hopefully they will go tomorrow, 225 fighters. Meanwhile the groups in the Bonins have stood down.

• 1,062 AV at Mishan, assault tomorrow.

• NE of Rashin 6,336 AV facing 2,240 troops. Destruction tomorrow.

• Osaka/Kyoto Fires are 3,323.

Simply amazed at what is happening at Vlad...didn't think it was really possible. Kudos to Japan for being able to pull it off.

As I recall from my experience bombing Vladivostok against Andy, the massed Soviet anti-aircraft was deadly but it never stopped my bombers from plastering the port and any ships docked there. If your fighters are not able to stop the enemy your best bet is to run the warships up to the north. It may be too late though as most of them seem to have already been heavily hit.

I really miss that Soviet adventure... so much fun!

I should have started massive AAA railing in on day 1, but, uh, oh, the staff!

Walter offered to activate the Soviets a month early to allow for interior movement, etc, just no attacks, TF creation, etc etc. I loved the idea but I declined because I never got as far as Soviet activation before and I wanted to see it vanilla one time. If I ever get there again with a chance for early 'administrative activation' like Walter offered, I'll know enough to move lots more flak to Vladivostok.

That mixes the Japan sweeps of Vladivostok, bombing raids on Vladivostok, and Allied sweeps of Nagasaki/Sasebo.

All that and only one was shot down by your AAA. Especially nice to see so many of his top line fighters go down - and likely heavy pilot losses too. Well done - and rare at the same time! :)

• We scored very well, much better than I expected.

• The raw number of Ki-83 was way down even though there were probably just as many Ki-83 missions. Plane and pilot fatigue, I'm guessing. Good for our side.

• Mishan is ours, but the road to Rashin is blocked by the Black Knight.
