A patch would be nice since IMO it is better game than WitP/WPO. PLays faster, smaller scale, I like it. I have all three games but now only play UV. Just my preference you understand.

Mike, please bug production to try to get this patch out before they all leave on vacation for the holidays. I think we have all been very patient while waiting for it, but I really wouldn't want to see a riot storming the doors of the production office. [;)] I've been hoping to start a long scenario with the 2.50 patch over my own Christmas vacation. 5 days of that vacation time are already gone...hint, hint! [:D]

Maybe if we're lucky the patch will be posted in the first quarter of 2007?  Will it fix bugs without causing new ones remains to be seen.

2 months and a half since the "announcement" of a new patch and ... nothing ...

Seriously, I'm a fairly patient guy, but this is getting annoying ... [:(]

You know, I am not suprised at the delay.

They ( Matrix ), did put out a lot of stuff ( see Home page news ), just before Christmas and we were not included (low priority I guess ).
The trouble is we are likely to be dropping down any ( priority ) list rather than climbing it!

What we need is someone to vent our feelings towards, then we at least might get some response/action.

I'll go back to sleep now! [>:][>:][>:]

Hello...

Production told me they put the patch up. You might not be able to find it. I will inquire.

Sorry...

It was in the queue to go up, looks like it hasn't been posted yet though. I'm not sure why, but I'll post it up personally tonight in the Members' Club. I'll post back here once it's online.

I'm starting the process of getting it posted now, will probably take about an hour. Here are the key patch notes since 2.42:

Bugs Fixed:

1)Aircraft were still disappearing for no apparent reason. Found second bug. Fixed.

New Features:

1)The assault value of each land unit is now displayed on the unit orders screen.
2)The number of defensive mines at a base now appears on the base orders screen.

Well, that went faster than expected.

The v2.50 beta update is now available as a Registered Download in the Members' Club. Please let us know if you have any problems and how you like it. Apologies for the delay in getting this online.

Hey Erik,

What's the big idea with the serial number now. I have an original CD I bought from Matrix way back when the game was first issued and it ain't got no stinking serial number!! The CD or the CD box.

Yours truly,
RedMike

Ditto I purchased mine at a EB Games way back in the day. I didn't have any serial number attached to mine. I just got the players guide and the CD.
Take my word for it. You never want to be involved in an “International Incident”.

It's up and avaialable. Thanks for that!!

At 51.4MB it's some update. I assume this is a comprehensive patch that will bring any version up to V2.50???

Unfortunately it's asking me to register the game before allowing download of the patch. I got UV 1.0 years ago without a serial number so what should I be entering into the serial number field?? (Leaving it blank doesn't work)

The Patches and Updates area only has V2.41.

==================================================

Got it!!

Try in the Members Downloads area rather than in the Registered Downloads area!!

Thanks!!!

Cheers,
Reg.

Three responses to the patch within 2 hours (plus any others with serial numbers).

Who said this game is dead!!!

Gah, same problem here, I don't have any serial number on the CD or box [:(]

I'll try to find the invoice I received at the time, but that was long ago, ordered in France, and I'm pretty sure there was no serial number on it [:(]

I just checked where WITP keeps it's serial number and my UV installation definately doesn't have a serial number entry.  If the installer requires one, we have a minor problem. [:(]
