RE: Surface Combat at Dutch harbor

The worst part of the engagement at Dutch Harbor was that the BB TF was suppose to be coming in during daylight hours.

Mike has either landed or captured every base from Dutch Harbor to Japan.

The airstrikes from Batavia against the ships in Palembang port, finally has had a IJA responce, 111 IJA bombers hit Batavia's airfield. The Dutch will continue to dig and raid as possible.

IJN will be landing at Koepang in one or two days, which means Timor will all Japanese before 1942

US carriers are running and hiding somewhere in the Pacific. Now that Noumea is under new management, the local bars are only serving sake.

RE:Allied CV Sneak Attack

Post by Freedom205 »

Well the Admiral is up to it again. He slipped past my personal radar and sent in a CV TF to hit Dutch Harbor catching me off guard.(shame on me) He managed to catch Kiso and 2 DDs napping, sending the Kiso to the bottom. Shame, I will miss the use of her. Koepang has fallen, and my small raiding party has failed at Wake. (will have to send larger forced to take the island) Looks as if Lew has abandoned Clark Field, and has his PA troops holed up in Bataan. My land blitz south towards Singers is picking up speed, and the Admiral noticed his position around Changsha was less than desirable, and has begun pulling his troops back from the soon to be surrounded city. With the lack of interest we seem to be gettting with this AAr, perhaps I should upload some porn embedded in the next sit map?

The sitituation in China is getting out of control. I have abandoned Changsha. The rail line is not being defend by Chinese very well( ie Me). MacAruther decleared an open city in Manila and now has decided that without aircraft that Clark Field should not be defended also.Marines are defended Wake Island very well and will have Christmas on the Island. Finally the CL Kiso is no more. Now the look at the pictureand see all the Japanese bases next and near to Dutch Harbor.

Well I guess if one guy is following, then the porn will have to wait ; ) j/k Very little to report right now, resting at the moment. Changsha did fall today, and my forces have left Wake in defeat. (We will return, just like the japanese did in r/l) Lew pounded the harbor at Dutch Harbor, and I seemed to have quited the bombers flying out of Batavia. Should be in Mandalay by New Years, and Rangoon should be mine in a few days.

THe Batavia air units have moved, they were taking a pounding from Palembang, they will return as soon as the air strikes stop. Dutch Harbor will take a little more hits before I leave. I think Mike has too many ships if all he is doing looking for a tanker.

Mike did exactly the same in our game, invaded all the way up to Dutch Harbour and he's constantly probing and outflanking every single
stronghold in China. The latter is especially annoying [;)]

Not so worried about the Aleutians, nice place to train our troops and ships before the major counter-offensives kick off in 43.

We will read Mike, but you have to blow something up - at least twice a week to keep the mob's interest [:D]

Are you saying Mike has to blow some things up, or are saying we need more action and Mike has to have some of his things blown up?

Both would help if you can keep up sinking Jap capital ships throughout 42!
The problem would be that you would run out of things to blow up way before 45 [;)]

Not much of an update for this turn. Lew followed up his port attacks on Dutch Harbor, and my invasion of Davao started. Sad to say the Tama was finished off in harbor. Going to take a week or two of game play before I can manage to blow anything large up, as I am regrouping at this time.

Here is a situation map of the Japanese drive to Singapore. Yellow arrows show the rather orthadox attack route. Speed is the key to this advance. The Japanese army will not allow the British time to organize a strong defense. 12/24/41 and we already have Malacca, and Johore is just outside of our grasp.

Tough day for the Americans. It was a mistake bringing the bombardment TF, and allowing the ecorts to bombard. The Colorado with all the hits just damaged the paint, can't say the same thing for the DDs

Gili was captured today, along with San Mercialino (spelling?) which means all of the remaining troops in the PI mainland are holed up in Bataan. It seems I have been paying too much attention to this game game and not enough dotting the i's and crossing the t's in my other game with PzB. Today his forces raped some APs and a CA in Port Moresby [X(] I guess he had to take the opportunity to remind me that he is the master, and I but a student.

It has been quiet. It is only the 30th of DEc 1941, and Timor has been captured, Singapore is the only base in Malaya, Bataan is the only base in Luzon, Noumea has fallen as well as all bases with 500 miles, Rabaul and Lunga have fallen, Dutch Harbor and every base back to Japan has fallen. Bases left to capture for the Japanese OZ, Suva, Canton Island, Pearl, the rest of Alaska, Java, Tarakan, Manadalya, Chunking, and India. Well 1942 should be interesting.

It seams like I am getting the lessons you are learning from PzB. Maybe Pzb can give some hints on how to roll back the this Japanese offensive.
