1. If it ain't broke don't muck with it

IE7 fixed a lot of stuff that was broke with IE6, and only broke a few new things of its own.

I have IE7 and am doing quite nicely with it. I like the tabbing new sessions in particular, but I am always right-clicking to get that. I suppose there's a keyboard shortcut for that function, but I haven't looked very hard to find that yet.

You can get the new IE (IE7) on XP. Just go to http://www.microsoft.com/ie and install it. Works great.

Why on Earth would you want to do that ? FireFox is 100 times better browser...more secure and takes less space on my HD.

Peter i took your advice and bought a router (linksys) haven't set it up yet. Hope it gets rid of the slowness from the firewall.
I'm happy with XP for now.

Also get Adblock plus : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 and you don't have to worry about stupid ads ever again :)

I've still to encounter any Vista problem that's difficult to tweak.

BTW.. whomever said a service pack hasn't even been announced for it: It's due out this spring same as XP's.

I'm no huge Vista fan but It's worked just fine for me. I've got my system set up to dual boot but I've not even had to use XP on it yet.

I love my Vista.

Best OS ever.

Easiest install, not a single crash (unlike fucking XP), looks nice, recognizes everything, no problems at all.
