In PBEM's the setting has to be turned to off from the start, you cannot change the settings once the game has started

The definition of "Insanity" is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
You and Carl are getting close to that edge with the number of re-starts you have gone through. [:D]

Yup - that's what Bill says too.
Oh well, sooner or later Carl and I will get something nailed down - hopefully with this next game.

RE: Question regarding Auto-sub ops
LCDR Murata always came to the stern of the Akagi when he needed time to be with his thoughts. His pilots knew this and took great pains to insure he was undisturbed during his visits. Murata looked at the trail of churned water from the great screws below. The seas were moderate and KB was making its way to a new point south of Pearl Harbor. Other ships were in view, like the Battleship Hie, keeping pace on the port side. Destroyers swept for American submarines and above the task force Murata knew some of the Jakes were working with the destroyers to protect the KB.
Today had been a good day for the KB. The reason it had not been a great day was simply because the American carriers had not been at Pearl Harbor. Had the carriers been there they would have been resting at the bottom of the harbor along with the American battleships Pennsylvania and Oklahoma. Yes, it had been a good day for the KB but the cost! Too many of his valiant torpedo-bomber pilots had died in the murderous anti-aircraft fire from around the base. And tomorrow they would go again – of this Murata was certain. Too many empty bunks were in pilot country tonight and there would be more after Monday…

KB is moving south of Lahaina for a final attack and then will be heading to Kwajalein
At Wake Island TF 16, under the command of Captain Totoh, is still unloading troops and supplies. They will take back with them to Kwajalein most of the Americans that surrendered to the IJN Maizura 2nd SNLF. There will be plenty of manual labor for the new prisoner “work crews” both at Wake and Kwajalein…

In New Britain at both Kavieng and Rabaul troops and supplies are still unloading. In a brilliant move by the naval armed forces, a special unit, the IJN Yoko 1 Airborne SNLF, jumped out of patrol aircraft and parachuted down to Gasmata, taking the stunned base by total surprise. LCDR Hagiri, Commander of the Yoko 1st Airborne SNLF knew that Parts of the Yoko 2nd Airborne SNLF captured Naru Island from Kwajalein in the same manner and that parts of the Yoko 3rd Airborne unit had been used in the PI at Naga. Hagiri wiped sweat from his eyes as he watched his troops preparing positions and clearing the air field for the remaining members of the Yoko 1st scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Hagiri paused for another moment to wonder how operations had faired at Naga in the PI and then he was off to see if his command tent was in order. Even in the Airborne they still managed to send plenty of paperwork to keep an officer busy…
Mini KB, in the Celebes Sea, is pushing up into the Sulu Sea to go after merchie shipping from Manila. On the last game, prior to this restart, I had caught the Boise and the Marblehead running to the Makassar Strait. Carl had thought I was hunting for the Boise but that really was not the case. I don’t know if Carl gave them orders to do something different or if my search aircraft were simply unable to locate those TFs on turn 1.
In the PI Naga has already fallen to paratroopers. Legaspi will fall next turn. Troops are unloading at Aparri, Laoag, and San Fernando. At Legaspi one of those LCUs is the JAAF 5th Air Sect HQ EAB, with a little over 100 Avi support. I’ll soon by flying Bettys and Nells from here to play hell with enemy shipping. Air strikes from Tokao are still planned for both Manila and Clarke next turn.
At Taan I’m sending the JAAF 18th Air Sect EAB plus two INF units and plenty of supplies via TF 23 to capture Brunei. From next door at Kiungshan I’m sending the IJA 1st Raiding Bde to Miri via Patrol craft. Something else that is coming to Saigon shortly is TF30 – with 32 F1M2 Pete Float Fighters. I hope to change over 1 unit of 8 aircraft to the Rufes when they unload while the other unit of 24 Petes will fly LRCAP over Miri/Brunei from Miri. Once the Rufe unit is functional it’ll be tossed into air operations at Borneo also.
In Malaya troops are still unloading @ Kota Bharu. I moved a fighter unit to Singora with ENG support on the way. Zekes are flying LRCAP missions to Kota Bharu out of Compong Som.
In Saigon my Nells and Bettys are going on Naval missions but if they don’t find any TFs from Carl they’ll get some valuable rest.
I’ve got troops headed to Victoria Point and Tavoy to start pushing the Burma route. And in China I’m moving some LCU around, starting to set up air operations against the enemy LCUs, and have Hong Kong under siege. Another attack is planned at Hong Kong for next turn.
I’ve set all of the Kwantung LCU for no replacements to help flush out my other armies. I’m also moving a few Kwantung LCU to Jahol. From there they’ll be reassigned to China.
Production-wise I’ve stopped work on the BCs Amagi and Tosa along with several AK ships. I’ve also halted most of the R&D for air frames. All of this is in an attempt to get my HI and ship production under control. The CV Yamato will clear the building docks in about 7 days – that’ll free up some additional strain on my naval production rates.
TTFN,
Mike

No - I'm sending these two units to the PI. Canton has several INF that are already prepped for Hong Kong so I'll use those units to help me take the base.

Troops continue to unload In the PI and in New Britain. As soon as troops and supplies are unloaded so I have no combat penalties I’ll start additional attacks.
Carl continues pounding me in Malaya @ Kota Bharu with his LB but my Zeke CAP and his poor pilot ratings keep me fairly safe. A bomber scratched the paint on the BB Haruna. The Zekes and Rufes are shooting down the allied Bombers or sending them running for home with their mission incomplete.
A lot of sub action this turn also. Japanese subs are eating merchies left and right. Carl’s S-39 put a pair of torps in my CL Kiso @ Legaspi. My ASW forces there seem to have problems finding subs… I’ll replace the commander and C if that helps any.
The Houston paid a visit to Miri and gave my troops a welcoming present… Naval Bombardment…
Mini-KB is eating merchies from the PI… I have LBs @ Legaspi that are eating merchies too. Carl lost a lotta merchies this turn. I think between the subs, the LB, and mini-KB Carl lost somewhere around 15 ships.
My PH attack from KB was light this turn… KB is headed for replacements now.
Hong Kong is looking like it’ll go down soon…
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ground combat at Hong Kong [UK]

Allied ground losses:

Guam and Kavieng were captured 2day.
I know this is hard 2 believe but Japanese Intel says they’ve picked up radio transmissions in Manila… Wow – really god 2 know…
So orders 2day are more of the same – continue the feeding frenzy in the South China Sea and continue with my stated game plan.

I've got a D. Atk planned @ Tavoy and Rabaul also.

RE: Question regarding Auto-sub ops
On a personal note my family and I watched our oldest son graduate from high school. It was very-very cool and my wife and I are extremely proud. It looks like my son will be joining the Army as a Combat Engineer.
I have two more children in high school (my youngest becomes a freshman this fall).
It was just a very cool experience to see my son Nate graduate.

Since I'm playing both sides, 2 PBEM games with this mod, I see the need to do some damage in China before those 600 replacement squads per month truly kick in. [X(] The Chinese have a few "group armies" that hold over 1200 squads. Heaven forbid you run into a few of them once their experience gets over 50. They could ruin your day. [:D]

[X(] The Chinese have a few "group armies" that hold over 1200 squads. Heaven forbid you run into a few of them once their experience gets over 50. They could ruin your day. [:D]
How goes the planning for your game against Nemo??
I have some general thoughs on T1 but you know as well as I that Nemo will be very agressive. I'll put units on alert as best I can with our house rules but I will start out on the defensive - I have to respond 1st, evaluate the map, and then plan. At least that's the way I C things right now... [;)]
