All I want for Christmas is....

A) my two front teeth
OR
B) my own copy of AE

Since I already have "A" then it only leaves "B". Can I hang my stockings now or should I wait??

Let's just let the developer team finish and Matrix get it prep'd for release. Then we all can buy the AE and let the gaming begin!

I say take what ever time you need. I always thought that "summer of 08" was a bit to soon if you planned to overhaul the AI. I for one do not mind waiting. Its hard but I will live. I plan on starting out new with the expansion as if I have never played and maybe this time I will do better (SIGH)

Yeah and then (like some game companies who's name I shall not mention) have to spend a lot mote time doing patch's to try to get to where you wanted it to be if you had waited. Its safe to say we all hear want to see it,play it,talk about it, and most of all BUY IT! When the time is right my children.....when the time is right.

Eh, but we didn't plan to overhaul the AI. But as always the AI wins and it made us overhaul it!

Well why to bother fixing the AI as it will suck either way... this like let's say HPS games should be labeled PBEM only.[:D]

For what it is worth, I agree, release PBEM, if and only if that part is ready and add AI in when complete. I want a good AI, but it could in theory hold up the release significantly (or has). PBEM would help identify bugs earlier. This would take some pressure off completing AI to meet a timeline. This could in fact result in a much better AI, why rush it to complete the release? Those AI players can PBEM with themselves (no indecency slant intended).

Pay no attention to these nay sayers. BPEM now the AI version later? SOme of the players must be so crazed by the AE version being put off till....????? The design team unfortunately is in a no win no win situation here. There was IIRC a great deal of posting about updating the AI.
The players of this game tend to fall into 2 groups those who play PBEM games and those of us who play the computer. There is I would guess a small third group who might do both. I figure that both major fractions have equal rights. If you had the PBEM game done and were working on the AI version there would be those self centered players against the AI could be the ones wanting there game released first. Me first self centered greed is not a pretty sight.
After waiting 7 months and finding out they will have to wait some months longer has made some a bit crazy. I think that in the start of this project what you had decided to update has been added to by the players wanting this or that redone or this or that added. The whole process is kind of snowball rolling down a hill kind of effect. I think we are getting what we wanted but we will just have to wait till its ready so lets get off the design team's back and let them get on with it.
If it were me I would not place a dateon the possible finish of a massive project like this till I had a GOOD idea of when.
They have been honest with us, considered our wants and no wants so let them finish there work that we the gamers have caused to grow larger than anyone perhaps thought it would. In the end the game will be much more than we ever thought it could be, even if there are some who will not be happy because some small item on there wish list was not in the finished game.
SO come on guys give them some slack. They will let us know when it is done. Life does not consist of endless rounds of sleeping eating and playing WitP.

Let's not be getting kinky here, big boy.

And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

You realize that - unless you're schizophrenic - this isn't the same as playing against the AI? [;)]

I do understand the difference. I was just having some fun. Let's face it the 1st while with this beast will be just learning. I do play both sides, only so I can learn both and then do a PBEM as either side.

Hey NYGIANTS and I are planning to pair up on the Japanese side for a 2x2 match against two GOOD Allied players! Been thinking of posting onto the Opponents Section and see what we get. We could start an AAR planning for the new game and being at page 30 of the AAR before it is released! [:D]
