Yes, that cannon works (I'm actually pleasently surprised, I was a nay-sayer).

The "Boomer Squadron" (along with some 25Cs) whacked some IJN MLs at Shortlands.  They were all set to 100' skip-bombing.  The 75mm cannon squadron scored several hits, I didn't explicitly count, but it was about 4 or 5 (along with many 50-cal hits).

And somebody asked before whether skip-bombers actually drop bombs.  Yes, they do.  I confirmed that the 25s did drop (and hit) at 100'.

Oops, forgot the screen shot. I don't know how much damage those cannons did. But they looked cool.
