New Bombur scenario.

RE: First Beta version ready
A new version will be uploaded soon. The map is almost ready. Playtest show that Germany os too weak and the British were able to capture Hamburg and Berlin before 1903. I will make Germany stronger, but the geographical position of the country makes survival difficult in a war of all against all.

RE: First Beta version ready
A new version will be ready soon. I reworked completely the naval system. Ships now move two times faster than in Bombur mod. Target preferences now follow a much better logic. Destroyers will fire at submarines and minor ships, Cruisers will fire at minor ships and Capital ships, Battleships will fire at other capital ships and carriers, Submarines will choose their targets with equal preferences. Transport ships will, usually, be fired only after their escorts are gone. Antiship ratings for planes improved, but now only destroyers and a few cruisers can attack submarines. The survivability of submarines and destroyers improved (I doubled hit points)
RE: First Beta version ready
v0.21 ready, it fixes a bug with Gibraltar supply. As I still lack access to the scenario bank, it will be sent to Grymme, so he could upload it to the site. Anyone interested also could contact me and I will be glad to send the last update.
Germany is finished
Screenshot for a human vs AI game. Germany again loses a two front war, while French and Russian Advance to capture central european cities, formerly owned by Germans and Ottomans....

Nope, i wish i had.
I am using a Phenom 2.9 GHz quadrocore. Unfortunately it seems AT is only using one of those processors. But i guess the delay is natural... considering the AI is making units with names like 1014th Army. [;)]

RE: More screenshots
Unfortunately this a trouble...the scenario is too big....I´m currently in 1910, but turns aren´t 1 hour long...for now. They are close to 30-40 min....maybe it´s better to play vs. human opponents...
Btw, did the Panama channel event work?

Unfortunately, no, it did not work.
However, it seems Germany is now well balanced. They are actually keeping up a good fight with France, and they are in Moscow. France has conqoured England, and the Ottoman Empire is holding up ok. China is the big loser, having only 9 VPs.
One strange thing i´ve noticed is that Moscow has a VP rating of 0.

-The city at Panama Isthmus didn´t appear? I will check.
-Moscow VP´s are wrong. I will correct it in a future version.
-How is the powerful Brazilian empire going, btw?

Well...
As soon as you get your hands on the entire continent of southern America, you can pretty much sit on it and defend it easily while researching to gain the upper advantage.
1919, sept. 19. And i am beginning the assault on America. I just took the falklands a few rounds ago, and i am island hoping atm. Brazil has Aircraft III, Artillery III, Infantry II, Ships III and Vehicles III. In other words, they are ahead of the rest, but not by much.
France was easy to kick out of French Guyana, and Kicking the USA out of Southern America was not too hard, but the British where very stubborn and kept reinforcing Georgetown. When i finally got it, i had to spend around 10 years cleansing the jungles around it for stray brits. BTW, units can flee over uncrossable rivers, which is to say the least, very annoying when your trying to eliminate them.
By now every town in South America is connected with roads. So each and every HQ is connected with Supreme Command. That was the main trouble to begin with, the lack of a superstructure, and the lack of LANDCAP to carry out transfers. SEACAP proved very dangerous, especially since Great Britain felt that the waters around the world are its territory... I at one point encountered the British entire HOMEFLEET... and they kicked my modern navy (Ships II) out of existance, I was wondering what it was doing down there near brasil, but then i looked at the map and saw that England itself had fallen. You might want to make England alittle more powerful on its home soil, or france is going to roll over it, like it has in this game.
Now i have a very powerful (3 battleships IIIs, 2 armoured crusiers II, alot of small fries) fleet, all being built out of Buenos Aires.. the only port worth building battleships in.. which is probably a good thing, or Brazil would be very powerful, on the high seas.
My airforce, 4 fighter IIs is having trouble shooting down all those unescorted airships that are bombing my troops just south of Panama. They get one every once in a while... I was hoping my fighter Is could have done the job, but them only having a 1 hex interception radius makes them not very suitable for the job.
Upgrading from SMG I to SMG II took my countries entire production for most of a year. Which i found annoying, but its probably realistic enough. Supplies are really worth more in this mod than in others i have tried. Generally upgrading is expensive.
My coastal towns are garrisoned by 20 SMG IIs and about 20-40 Rifle Is, and that has been enough to keep any invading force off the continent. Some garrisons have a single MG III as well.
At present the score is like this:
Russia 4 VPs
- In norway, the rest has been partitoned by germany and japan
USA 86 VPs
Great Britain 75 VPs
- holding on to its colonies in Asia, Australia and parts of Africa
Japan 58 VPs
China 9 VPs
- Japan has really eaten it up.
Germany 97 VPs
- More if Moscow was worth anything, owns all of southern africa.
France 106 VPs
- Owns England!
Brazil 53 VPs
- Owns all of South America, and is a peaceful place.
Ottoman Empire 48 VPs.
- Pretty much owns what i started with and pieces of africa and greece.

RE: More screenshots
Yes, the British Empire is too weak, I will improve their defenses against amphbious invasions, at least the AI is able to make amphibious operations. Do you think that creating a people´s republic in neutral territories would improve the game???

RE: More screenshots
No I don´t think that would be a good idea. I had considered it, but it just seems strange to me. I am currently running a game where i decided to play both USA and China... boy what a difference...

RE: More screenshots
Bombur, don't put People's Republic in, but rather turn off the auto-conquest of the neutral states. This will at least force the nations to waste their troops getting all the additional territory.
Another way around this might be the use of Action Cards, but I don't know how good you are at programming them in.
Cheers!

I´m terrible at programming events......why do you think a People´s republic isn´t a good idea?
Do you think the "new" naval engine is working well???

Well, it's because the AI currently (5th turn) takes an hour to resolve it's turn. If it keeps going like this, in 5 more turns it will take 2 whole hours. Adding a People's Republic will add even more time to this. So ... thumbs down.
Simply blocking the auto-conquest will have (about) the same effect as People's Republic - you'll have to send forces to take it - without additional hassle - no extra time spent waiting.
I'm playing as Germany and, currently, haven't the time to lose with a Navy - since I'm trying to build a solid defense against French and Russians and British (if they ever think about naval Invasions, of course... [;)])
cheers!
