User Interface improvements list

From the front lines in France and Russia to the deserts of North Africa and the airfields and convoys of Britain, the campaigns of World War II are yours to command in WW2: Time of Wrath! This turn-based grand strategy title, the highly improved and expanded sequel to WW2: Road to Victory, puts the player in charge of the political, economic and military decisions of one or more Axis or Allied nations, including minor nations.

Highlighting attacked hex is implemented now, so will be in patch.

1) Make sure this is also implemented for air strikes. We need to know which hex is being bombed.

2) See below. "Strengt" should be "Strength"

Image

3) See below. If a unit retreats that message should be included the pop-up window. Just a short "Defender retreats".

4) See below. What are these columns you speak of? If you're going to reference combat tables, you need to include them somewhere. I don't know if column 1 is good bad or what.

The whole combat pop-up display needs work to include relevant information.

You need to show actual losses. Defender lost 2.3 instead of "medium damage". What is medium damage? Is the defender "on the brink of destruction" and what does that even mean? 30% strength remaining? 15%? 5%??? People who are your target audience want detail. Please give it to them. You rate unit strength to a decimal point but then losses are obscured. I have to watch the combat and do math in my head?

While it'd be great to have this in game, you can find this info in the manual. And column 1 is bad :)

I just searched my manual for this table. It's not there. [&:]

Speaking of typos, there are way too many of them in both the game text and the manual.

I'm not chiding the devs, their command of the english language is excellent. [:)]

That said, both the manual and in-game text desperately need a native english language speaker to edit and correct errors.

Nuff said.....[8D]

There's no combat tables, land or air, in the manual as far as I can see :)

LOL, I be a Native English Language type person, and I don't think you would want me working on the manual

Carnifex,

On your #2 that is just a truncation.  For me I actually get Stren and then a little sliver of the g, you just nicely miss the whole H with proper spacing to make it look like a typo

Yes there is no table in the manual. But there is an explanation which column does what more or less, and at which should you aim at a given situation.

I'd like to see an optional 'confirm end turn' dialogue, or else move the end turn button.  Several times I've clicked it by mistake while trying to deploy units.  It's great that the autosave saves at the moment you click end turn, so I can reload, but it's still a pain the butt.

There was confirm dialog after clicking end turn, but we disabled it. If you guys really want we can enable it. Maybe (MAYBE!) we will add an option in preferences "Show end turn confirm dialog", but I can't promise anything!

About combat pop-up dialog: also I can't promise anything, but maybe there will be some changes (not necessary in first patch)

If it's optional (via options or just config file change) then that's great, but I'd for one would hate having to confirm it every time...

If it's optional...

I concur, it would be a good option to add in.

Here's a annoying one. Or possibly funny if you've been up playing long enough... [:D]

There are several USSR VP cities on the East edge of the board. Toward the end of a victorious campaign against the USSR, many, many reinforcements appear on the East edge.

But guess what gets in the way! The unit action popups. You can play thru the gaps, but it's not fun. [X(]

Please designate a hot key, like F9, to move the unit actions popup to the left side of the screen.

So I just finished my first grand campaign as the Axis on normal. [:)]

To avoid problems with minor allys, I chose to control all of them.

Toward the end of the game it gets very, very tiresome having to click on all the production summary screens between each turn. [:(]

Please, at a minimum, all Enter to equate to a left click to dismiss the screens.

Further, how about a way to say you don't want to see the reports on a country by country basis.
