FLASH FLASH FLASH: Major Carrier and Naval battle off Tjilatjap!
TF50 (VAdm Halsey, Enterprise flag) and TF51 (VAdm Mitscher, Lexington flag) delivered a spanking to the IJN forces milling around Tjilatjap, pounding Akagi and Ryuho hard without receiving so much as a scratch.
FLASH FLASH FLASH: Naval battle off Tjilatjap
TF56 (RAdm Lee, South Dakota flag) with 5 BBs engaged an IJN heavy surface force off Tjilatjap. Each side slugged hard, especially IJN BBs Yamato and Musashi. Those two steel monsters gave BBs North Carolina and Indiana and CA New Orleans a severe pounding.
Operation Screwdriver continues
33rd Inf Div 40th Inf Div and 3rd Marines on Marcus are still unable to capture the base. They are supported by TF53 (RAdm Reeves, ] Belleau Wood flag), TF54 (RAdm Fletcher, Chenango flag), and TF58 (RAdm Merrill, Pennsylvania flag). They are facing at least 2 under-strength IJA divisions.
FLASH: Bombers from Bangkok sent VAdm Kurita IJN swimming again as they wiped out his resupply TF of 2 DD and 6 MCS off Khota Bharu. He’s been dunked enough time to do without his water wings…
LGen Pownall SEAC again pushed the enemy back from Bangkok, only to have them re-infest the neighborhood.

FLASH: Retreating IJN forces caught by RN off Singapore.
RAdm Palliser, RN with TF67 (HMS Formidable, flag) caught VAdm Matsunaga’s retreating IJN fleet units off Singapore while returning to support duties at Bangkok. This time, Ryuho was put down for keeps by Avengers from HMS Formidable . Akagi was not hit, but she is headed for repairs at Osaka, and still has to get past bombers at Hong Kong.
Speaking of the boys in Hong Kong, they found RAdm Ukagi’s TF with Yamashiro and Ise, and rearranged some of their deck chairs with some well placed ordinance.
FLASH: Operation Smackdown: Carrier Strike on Tjilatjap concludes
VAdm Halsey’s TF50 (Enterprise, flag) and VAdm Mitscher’s TF51 (Lexington, flag) delivered another spanking to the IJN forces around Tjilatjap, pounding the local airfields hard without receiving so much as a scratch.
FLASH: Bombers from Bangkok made a prune of RAdm Kimura again as they wiped out his resupply TF of 2 DD and 4 MCS off Singora.
LGen Pownall SEAC again pushed the enemy back from Bangkok, only to have them re-infest the neighborhood. This has happened for 2 months now. Something has to give.
