Anyone tried the widescreen on an Intel GMAxxx? It does not seem to work at all on my laptop with the following command line:

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1440 -py0900 -altFont

neither does any -w -ed combination :(

I got it to work by deleting my old shortcut and creating a new one to the newly patched exe file. Then it worked.

17. Correcteded mis-spelling "Withdrawalls".

#17 is an indication of how far these guys will go to get things right and how much attention they give to detail (but now they have to correct "Correcteded")

Thanks - we'll get that fixeded right away!!! [:D]

I thought it was funny.

My vote: leave it just to make people uncomfortable.[:)]

First, thanks for the great job with a ton of fixes so fast, and wide screen!!! [&o]

I didn't notice any mention in the changes list of a fix for combat animations covering up the portion of the screen where the attack takes place.  For instance I often see this with a sub/ASW attack where the animation only takes up the right half of the screen, and the map is on the left.  Sometimes, the hex where the combat is taking place is not centered in the left half of the screen portion of the map, but under the combat animation.  This makes it difficult to see exactly where the combat is taking place, especially if I have several sub patrols in the area.

Nice list. Thanks.
I love it when you guys fix fifty things I didn't even know were broken.[:)]

Quick question. The "add on" code discussed on the forum about a month ago relating to submarine tube structures/database slots whereby there was more judicious use of torpedoes by subs not firing salvoes at every turn--I don't see anything related to that in the change list. If it's there, could you tell me? If it's not, that's fine, but did you guys check it to see if it's compatible at all? I think it requires a re-start, which would explain why it's not in Patch 3. Or, philosophically, you decided not to go that way. I'd just like to know if I do include it in a restart if it will break something which IS in Patch 3.

No hurry. Just wondering. That code has the potential to bring USN sub ops in line with historical cycle times by a lot.

Didn't see the "Shipyards & System Damage" bug in the "fixed" list. Some nasty exploit potential there (to say nothing of the frustration when you inadvertantly trigger it in the "wrong" direction!), so it would be nice if you could plug the hole in the final release.

Its:
40. Fixed - Change of ship (prev/next) in the ship lists is not setting global original repair values for that ship.

It's in there. However it will not come into play with standard scenarios as they are not modified.

Are you guys correctly setting the shortcut to point to the game exe? If you are modifying the default "Game Menu" shortcut on the desktop, you are not pointing to the game exe but rather the game menu exe. You need to point to the game exe (the "Quick Start" shortcut does this).

How about CV historical air unit resize thing? I don't think any scenarios are updated to bring this back after it dissappeared after patches/hotfixes?

Oh. Shoot. All I play are AI GCs.
Maybe when things calm down, you could adjust the standard scenarios?

"G:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -wd –px1360 –py768

Monitor is set for 1680 x 1050

One question though. I have two monitors. Will it work with two (not sure what "does not support spanning" meant. Not trying to span across multiple monitors. Just trying to run in windows mode on one of the monitors.

You are missing zero from your shortcut, should be: –px1360 –py0768

Those values apparently need to have 4 numbers.

Nope. That didn't fix it. And to confirm, title bar shows 1.0.3.1101b.

Also, tried "G:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" –px1600 –py1050, and just got a very stretched standard screen.

Read the notes. px must be > 1024 and py must be > 0768. And as suggested you might try creating a new short cut to the game exe and type the command line switches in, not copy and paste. Also the program looks up the capabilities of your primary monitor and looks for the px and py values you entered to see if they are listed and if not then no wide screen, you can confirm this by looking at the resolutions supported in the video adaptors control panel (Display Properties). It is strongly recommended that the video adapter and monitor both support these values or you may have problems.

Some help here for us old half deaf, half blind guys.  Where do I find this Beta Patch to download?  I've been to the Members Section, Downloads, etc.  I know it's "me" that's the problem.  The really sad part is that I've done this before.  God I hate getting old.

Thanks.

Earlier in the Tech Support forum there was mention made of a bug whereby parts of units were lost when unloading at a base. My opponent cap_and_gown reported losing aviation support and perhaps more, I have seen it, and others reported it.

It was said to be fixed for Patch 3, but I can't find anything like it in the change list. Is it fixed in Patch 3 Beta?

Used

"G:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -wd –px1600 –py1024

Which is listed in my monitor and video card.

Still just get the normal size window. When I tried

"G:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" –px1680 –py1050, it used the entire screen, but what I got was a stretched version of the same screen I always get.

Glad to run any tests etc.
