ORIGINAL: tukker

I designed the scenario with really two things in mind: new players should learn the game's basics as quickly and as easily as possible, and experienced players should get an idea of what's new in this game. O, and the players should have fun doing so.
I have to admit in did't consider the tactical soundness of the initial German dispositions - I just needed a bridgehead that the Americans can attack [;)]
By the way: while the scenario is hypothetical, the OOB of the forces involved is historical.

Pieter

And it accomplishes both of your goals.

The setup and force balance is fine - its a tutorial - not a balanced or historical scenario. I dont know why anyone would play it as multiplayer - its made to cut your teeth on as the Americans.

A very nice introduction to BftB.

So a basic 'stright up the guts' attack, interesting report.

With that scenario in the demo I tried a bit of manouvering but in demo mode the game could not be saved so it was never finished. Basically I tried to bring as many of my forces to bear at all times as possible so as to maximumise the force of attck and to spread my own casualties, two up engaging the enemy with one in reserve was the aim with the 1st and 51st swapping places initially to give the armoured lot the benefit of the road system approaching the bridge. Even sent one unit around the left flank to probe Lommersweiler with varying results.

That scenario seems to suit the game very well.
