One thing I would like to do for this mod is manpower usage and use the political points in this way and create mobilization points to be used to mobilize new units. Alas though I suck when it comes to programming. So if anyone would like to help with this, then that would be great.

Thanks Bombur. you will need the welks graphic mod in order to play this.

There's a problem with Welk's graphic mod: http://www.advancedtactics.org/scenario.php?nr=80 unless you know of another source?

I think you might want to email Victor this personally, this post might escape his attention.

the upload is max 10mb. but that gives you plenty of space.

the following 2 checks will help:

1. if you check what files are largest and save them as .jpg with some compression on you can make huge size improvements

2. also you might want to check if your not using to large graphic files for subformationtype and landscape illustration. more then about 300x200 pixels only serves to bloat the size of the needed graphics.

let me know if this does the trick for you.

best,

Egypt would support Israel in almost any event, but they won´t enter a war in the same side of Israel. It would result in some political instability. Of course, you could assume that Egyptian politics will change in the next 10 years. When will this scenario happen?

Bombur: I think now with the change in Government in Egypt and the very real threat of the Muslim Brotherhood gaining power, I think that Egypt will be a enemy very soon. The 1979 peace treaty will be dust before too long I'm afraid. Would be interested in what your opinion is though....

I'm still working on this mod and updating and fixing things as needed and so as soon as I'm able to get this monster uploaded it will be ready.

This sounds like a plan Vic, so I will give it a try. If this does not work though then what other options do I have. I appreciate your time in helping with this dilemma.

The only thing that is missing from the NATO counters are the size of the units on said counters. Wether or not the particular unit is a Brigade or lower size unit. Does anyone know of a set of NATO counters which have these markings on them?

Another question, is there anyway to edit the HQ counters to not show 999 when they are holding units to deploy to either other HQ units or to units themselves, just wondering because this is rather annoying.

I have updated some of the graphics for the units. Take for example the Israeli staff picture which has been updated and a few others. If anyone has any mideast pictures they would like to share I would be very grateful.

-Sure, the changes in Arab world will make this scenario much more plausible, I will the read the script again, so I could reach a better conclusion.

I have reworked this by expanding the map which allowed me to add Egypt, Qatar and removing Iran, even though I could add them in at a later date. I have replaced Jordan with Palestine. See background for this below.

Israel seeing a chance to strenghten their position and weaken their enemies in Syria Iraq and Iran, have launched secret talks with PA President Abbas. Abbas would have to secretly give up claims to Judea & Samaria and Gaza, would also establish the first Embassy in Jerusalem, jointly share control of the Temple Mount and give up all claims to Jerusalem as well. then Jerusalem will assist with the overthrow ( secretly) of course of the Jordanian Governmet in Amman and thereby installing Abbas as President of a Palestinian State on the east bank of the Jordan river. This could be done since a majority of the population are Palestinians and some of the army units are also Palestinian.

Abbas agrees to this plan but leaves open that in the furture the West Bank and Jerusalem will be put back on the table. Israel agrees to this in principle and so Israel begins to undermine Jordan with Palestinian help. Another part of the agreement with Israel was that Hamas, Fatah and all other terrorist groups would be eliminated or the very least weakend to the point that they no longer were a threat to either Israel or the new Palestinian State. It is now the end of 2012 and Abbas has lived up to his agreements with Israel, Hamas and Fatah or no longer a major threat to either States, and now with this Abbas declares the Palestinian State east of the Jordan river.

After this, Abbas begins a major military buildup with Russian and American assistance which begins to make Jerusalem uncomfortable, but non the less continues to support Abbas. With his new military in hand, Abbas begins to realize that the new State must expand at the expense of Saudi Arabia and begins to bringup the Hashemite claim on parts of Saudi land. This in turn causes the Saudi Government to become nervous and begin sending out feelers to Iraq, Syria and Egypt to form a new alliance in order to thwart what they see as blatent aggression coming from the new Palestinian State. Baghdad sees this as their chance to get even with Abbas for what they see as his betrayal of the Palestinian cause and begins massing forces on the Iraqi/Palestinian border as a show of support to Saudi Arabia and a threat to Amman not to invade.

I will have updated screenshots to put on here sometime today showing Palestine (Jordan) and would appreciate your opinions on this and expand on this idea. Since I have no order of battle to go with for the Palestinians, I have had to make it up for the most part. Giving them less morale than what the Jordanians had with the exception of the three Palestinian Presidential guard brigades, and two elite Tank brigades ( Abbas Tank Brigade and the Arafat Tank Brigade). They have several Infantry Brigades and I conclude that Abbas would build up a large tank force within two years or is this unrealistic that he could do this. I would say he could if he received large sums of aid from Saudi Arabia, Russia and the U.S.

Elite tank brigades and a large tank force? Very unrealistic. In real life that is. Maybe if China stepped in, in maybe 15 years or so, but considering their ways of doing things I doubt that too.
But, we're considering gameplay here, so that's another matter. I'd say give them more AT capacity, some of it advanced. Armoured units for the Abbas side should IMHO be armoured personnel carriers with AT capacity.

I agree that this would be unrealistic but what size tank force would you say Abbas could have in this time frame or for that matter how large a force. He is wanting to invade Saudi Arabia now, so he would need a good size tank force don't you think in order to accomplish this goal. I think that the current Jordanian army has several tank Brigades but since I don't have their oob in front of me, so I cannot remember how many they currently have. I think a mix of AT units along with tank units would be good, what do you think.
I know how wargamers are regarding ahistorical mods, heck I'm one of them but this line of thinking for this mod has gone in a different direction now since I started this back in September with all the upheaval and all currently going on in the middle east. Iran and Syria would go insane if this were to come to pass, I would dare even say this would make this area of gaming very interesting to say the least. I think maybe the timeline should be increased, because a two year span is not very realistic, so maybe a five year time frame maybe, say 2017.

Third screen shot - Iraqi front. If anyone has idea's how to make this more realistic let me know. I know that some Arab tank brigades have 150 tanks in them or that is how it use to be during the Yom Kippur war of 73. Iraq tank division which fought during this war did have 150 tanks per tank brigade from what I have gathered. The tank units are tank companies for this mod and they have at least 10 tanks per company, some more some less but to make things easier I'm using this standard. Any and all opinions will be greatly appreciated on how to make this better. Almost forgot, I have added a new Israeli unit, the " Mechanized Para"
