By the way, when I declared war on Finland in the Europe version of this scenario, the trigger never worked and I never got access to attack. I had amassed forces and then had to reassign them when it never worked after several turns.

I didn't declare war on any other faction. I wonder what will happen if and when you try.
I'll have to declare war on Finland and see what happens I guess. But that's for later in the game when I've conquered everything else. LOL.

I'm suprised at you, Larry!

One normally reads the details of a scenario, eh?

"House Rules - the PO will ignore them - (i) only units with the Special Forces, Airmobile, Paratroop, Air Assault, Marine, Amphibious, Helicopter and Air icons (NOT FLEETS) can air/sea assault/land at enemy owned ports. It doesn't matter which method they use, at this level the distinction between paratroops, commandos, marines and 'special forces' becomes blurred. If still friendly during the next turn, conventional units can use sealift to enter them. (SP indicates that a Supply Point will be placed on the captured hex. There are also Russian SPs in most NATO capitals). (ii) Units with the RES icon must remain in their home countries (which may include islands if applicable). (iii) The Reds may attack neutrals as soon as they press the Declare War TOs: there's no need to wait until the following turn, although if there's exclusion zone still in place you'll need to wait for it to disappear. No need to declare war on/avoid passing through the smaller non-NATO nations like Malta, Cyprus, Bosnia and Macedonia, I'm assuming that they'll be caught up in any major conflict in the Mediterranean region. (v) HQs may not be moved by air.

The minor 'roads' connecting some small islands may be used by ground units without the need for sealift."

Further, ANKARA* has an the apostraphe (whatever) indicating a capital.

Details Details, eh? [:D][:D][X(]

Hey, Larry, you already had turkey for Thanksgiving. You don't need to be taking Turkey from NATO.

Here's the moves I made in turn 3:
Note my invasion of Italy:
I was expecting a bit more progress in Isreal, hence my unit right in the middle of the enemy camp, which will probably get killed in Roger's turn3.

And here's how the air war went:

Here's the Warsaw Pact END_OF_TURN_DO_NOT_SEND file I had built for me at the end of turn 3:

Just clip off the ".txt" from the end of the name to make it a ".sal" file again.

Like a true propaganda machine in wartime, NATO mentions little about Poland and the European Theater and crows about a big boot off the coast of Italy.

And another thing. Those HVY ICBM sites that WP has....they would be serviced at the very least by heli-chopper and probably also or only, by aircraft. And they should probably have air bases with them (in the same hex). If they had airbases it might more closely resemble those HVY ICBM sites I've seen pictures of.

That is a very strange display of the paratroopers. They are not out of the zone of control. They actually were nearly wiped out by you in a previous turn and I couldn't get away. They were definitely in reach.

I wonder if you attacked and they fled across that zone of control, but how, I do not know?

By the way, when I declared war on Finland in the Europe version of this scenario, the trigger never worked and I never got access to attack. I had amassed forces and then had to reassign them when it never worked after several turns.

I didn't declare war on any other faction. I wonder what will happen if and when you try.

Damn: I swear that I've tested those DoW triggers and they worked, but thanks for spotting it. I'll take a good look. Sorry.

Sorry, I thought that you meant the script at the end of the report - when I look at it, it tails off into meaningless symbols. Have I missed you main point (yes)?

NATO Turn 4 is complete. Not much to report or to post on the AAR. Counter-punched cautiously. Hit some vulnerable units hard. Have really figured out how to use the attack helicopters to massive advantage against Russian tanks.

Mostly dug in; waiting on reinforcements to get into position. Pushed amphibious assault out of Spain; hurt similar assault in Italy but not enough. Larry is gaining a foothold, but I still think I've got enough to boot him out entirely.

Very worried about Europe. Warsaw was lost in this turn. Defensive perimeter is now established in a wall east of Berlin, but it's too many miles to cover with two few units. I just don't know if I can hold. If I lose Berlin, this game could be over very, very early.

Israel seems secure. I conceded Kuwait, pulling back to try to hold Baghdad. Serbia and Sarajevo are up for grabs for either side.

Starting to get substantial reinforcements. That's my only hope.

Yes you've missed the boat. What I originally said was this:

Umm....there's probably more than one person ( Mark ) who might want to check out the Warsaw Pact's END_OF_TURN_DO_NOT_SEND file that was produced at the end of turn 1. Here you go:

[ just remove the .txt from the file name to make it a .sal file instead. ]

So um.....you weren't supposed to be able to read any of it, 'cause it's a binary file. Hence my confusion. I thought I was the only person able to read binary, hexadecimal, and 10 digit all just about equally. Well...., maybe not equally any more. I used to work as a computer programmer and it helped to have some numbers memorized in binary, hexidecimal, and base-10. Sped up the workflow sometimes. But I ramble.

Larry,

Little Problem: what I'm getting from your DL's is a text file, with no opertunity to change by deleting the txt superscribtion, eh? It's basically the screen one gets when tabbing on the 'sce', eh? The gobbledygook Mark was refering to is the alphanumerics of the program.

I'd send you a pic, but this Forum doesn't seem to like me, LOL! What are you guys using for screen capture, eh?

By the way, you might want to keep up on the GSforum run, eh? Mark has replyed to a question of mine, and reffered to Roger's 'Finland' problem as well.... http://forums.gamesquad.com/showthread. ... ost1337404
