Tristanjohn - last post 5 Feb 2006. I do not recall the date of his death - would have to search the old WitP forum.

TJ passed away in July 2006 as noted in the following link. He had been ill for some time and had only posted irregularly in the year before his death.

Tristan John's passing

His passing was also noted on the ACW forum the same month.

He was my first PBEM partner in our very short-lived match from the original WitP.

Though we were often on different sides of the fence, we did enjoy our heated debates on the forum and often carried on the fight in emails and PMs to one another. TJ was very passionate about history.

This is how the "Honor Roll of Forum Friends who have Passed On" read as of January 9, 2012 at 9:19 a.m. eastern standard time. I am copying an pasting here only to record the rather remarkable chain of events in which we first learned on 1/1/12 that Divepac88 had passed away only to have him "pop back up" on 1/8/12. Coinciding with this post, I am editing the first post to remove Divepac's name therefrom. Long live Divepac88!

"In honor of longtime forum friends who have passed away, creating absences that cannot be filled, here are the forum names and dates of passing so that we, their UV/WitP/AE brothers and sisters, may long remember them. We can edit the list as needed (hopefully a very rare task). Or, if this just doesn't come across right, we can let this fade away.

1. Tristanjohn - sometime after 2/5/2006
2. P.Hausser - shortly after 5/01/2010
3. Hellfirejet - circa Aug. or Sept. 2010
4. DivePac88 - 11/28/2011 - resurrected () 1/8/2012
5. herwin - 12/31/2011"

When I bought Witp I didn't join the forums at first, I was kind of a young pup and thought some were a little to harsh towards those who were either new or played against the AI (frankly I was new to WITP), but after running into some probs I signed up and I believe one of the first few threads I realized its a closer gaming community then the typical other games I played in the past.

Even though I am only 29, I always felt this was one of the nicest communities you could grow into.

You weren't drawn to GreyJoy's type of woman?
