Matrix Patch?

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

I have no idea what I am doing wrong here.Downloaded core, run as admin, sent to correct path, ran update, nothing changed still 5.77 version. This is driving me nuts.I try again.

Is this what you did?

run 580 exe.
after that runs updater window opens, navigate to where you unzipped may patch, install may patch file to correct directory, save and play.

It almost sound reading above that you didn't run the may patch right after the 580. I did this the first time and it still said 577. It was explained to me that the 580 updates the engine, the may patch is the content. The version number won't change until the may patch is installed. If you already installed this way, i have to no idea what wrong.

what he said^

you download it and extract or unzip to a folder. Apply 580 and after that the apos update screen should pop up and then hit install and navigate to where you extracted or unzipped the may patch and click the desc addpack, clock should pop up, after that save and play. Just make sure the install folder for running the 580 and the may patch are the path you installed too, the default is usually not right. Then check your version number. I've installed and reinstalled so many times its second nature now[:'(]

Here's all did.

I ran the 580 exe. After that was successful, the apos update window opened. I hit install and navigated to where i extracted the may patch, in my case i made a new folder named apos may patch.I highlighted the desc.addpack and hit ok, the clock pops up and it installs. When finished i hit save and play and my version number was updated.
see below.
top frame is what i get after extracting. the second frame shows what files are in the core file, the last frame is the size of the core folder. maybe redownload the may patch? check the size of the core file against mine.

I'd wait on everything else. Just rerun the 580 exe, then right after that finishes the update window should pop up, hit install and go to where the may patch desc.addpack is located and highlight it and install it, the clock should run and when it finishes hit save and play. Thats basically all i did.

Maybe start from scratch? Install base game, run 580 exe. , install may patch. Until you get the right versions with those 3 i wouldnt bother with the district or addons. So it's 580 exe first, may patch right after the 580. then check your version number.

pic is what i have after everything is updated. I feel your pain, i've uninstalled and reinstalled more times than i care to count.I finally can play without the 001 error[so far anyway], so hang in there.
