My hat is off to every member of this beta team. When this game is released it going to kick butt.

Agreed, lots of great feedback which helps considerably! [:)]

First report here. Overall the game (1.09) is working well against the AI. I figured out the forced march and cruise aspects, and my only comment here is that there should be a "surfaced" speed for subs GREATER than 20 hexes...the sub would be more vulnerable but it would move a LOT faster. Essentially all early war U-boats were submersibles that only dove from time to time.

I also found the font for Axis (especially German) hard to see in winter...perhaps they should be outlined or something? Anyway, there is a potential problem there.

Overall this is a great game with lots of WW II flavour.

Hi Hubert. I had an error after about 5 min from start, i think 3rd turn.
I had the StickyNotes from windows 10 running in backround because i wrote down the first impressions and program crashed.
After i restarted the game without Stickynotes or other program running and played 2 hours without
any error. I'll try tomorrow trying to repeat with other programs too running in background.
Here error report...

Thanks everyone and if you can, please post at least a screenshot of the error or the contents of the errorlog.txt found in the ERROR folder of your USER folder for the game. The reason I ask is that I've turned on the debug mode for the game again and it will output a pretty detailed error report that will help me track down the bugs.

Typical folder path for the user file area of the game on your system:

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command - WWII War In Europe

Thanks,
Hubert

Got the pictured error when zooming back in from max out zoom. The error log contained only the following line:

Sorry for having to copy and paste it. I thought I took a screen shot of it, but apparently I did not. I right clicked on the German 10th Army in land hex 185,81 (1 hex SE of Krakow) on turn 2 and selected "reinforce" and that is when the error popped up and the game crashed to desktop.

I went back into the game and tried it again to see if it is repeatable and it was not. I was able to reinforce 10th Army and every other unit without problems.

Using latest beta version 1.00.09, playing Axis on Expert.

v1.00.09_Crash

Post by ludi18671 »

Hi

I just had a crash in version 1.09. It was in late September 1940, the turn after France fell (well, agreed to an armistice). I clicked on a tactical bomber in the UK and attempted to right click for its properties, and the game crashed at that point. I was unable to take a screenshot. I (hopefully) have included the error report with the report. Oops, I was UNABLE to load the error file because Matrix said there was a problem....

Cheers

I'm getting a fatal lock-up by left-clicking twice on a submarine to put it in cruise mode and using the control key to select the path. I've gotten this in two different scenarios so it seems to be engine related. I haven't tried cruising without using the control key, and don't know if it effects anything besides submarines.

Update: Cruising without using the control key doesn't seem to cause any problems. Cruising with the control key causes very long lock-ups. I don't know if the freeze will eventually resolve itself because I generally give up after about two minutes. Type of ship used doesn't seem to matter, what matters is whether or not you try to use the control key.

Hi

I am playing (or trying to) version 1.10. It is the third allied turn (I started a game as the Allies) and I am unable to end the turn, or access any of the research or other maps. The Game has NOT crashed, but this is probably just as bad!

Cheers

After downloading and installing the latest version 1.10, I started playing a saved game for 1941 and discovered a tactical bomber for USA that could be upgraded was upgradable to an infinite number for all attributes (example: long range tech could be upgradable to whatever I wished (grade level 15 anyone?)instead of just the level 3 it just reached for technology).

Is it possible you pressed the F4 key? This will hide much of the UI and something I forgot to disable as I was using it for some screenshots when I didn't want the UI shown.

Pressing the F4 key again will bring the UI back on screen.

I accidentally left-clicked while the AI was taking it's turn and it locked up the game. Sorry I forgot to take a screenshot, but here is the error log.

Hi

I TRIED to play SC 3 tonight, but so far I have had the game quit on me twice. I am TRYING to play as the Allies in the full campaign. The first time I reloaded an old save and the game stopped working when I tried to move a British Light Cruiser to one on the Shetland Islands. There is no error file (not for this crash) and I did not use the F4 key.

The Second time that the game crashed I had started the game anew, as an Allied campaign, and this time the game stopped working when I tried to move a British destroyer (into the Atlantic).

I'm playing the 1.10 version of the game (without the hotfix) to finish a campaign. If I need to try something different I "quit" to the menu then go to reload the game... then I lockup. I've found that once the game gets in a crash state something is not resetting in memory and I need to quit the game to desktop which fixes it. But... in past versions I had to reboot my computer. So I'd suggest trying a clean boot to see if you crash again. Otherwise there may be something in that savefile that is incompatible with the latest version of the game. Once I had the game save a unit in the wrong position and when I tried to move it upon reloading the game would crash. I hope this helps a little.
