First impressions Lehnartsson based on build 8

First campaign Germany as beginner was the posts before.
Now my second campaign is almost finished with build 7 (september 1944)
I played axis, intermediate this time.

Poland was rather easy for sure but 4 turns.
During this time Italy reinforced heavily its units in Northern Africa
France was difficult to conquer in the beginning and felt only in august 1940.
In the meantime of French invasion, I invaded Yougoslavia and Greece.
Without the support of the units in France it was not so easy for Yougoslavia - Greece was awful during fall/winter. It lasted until early barbarossa in march 1941

Dak conquered Egypt and continued in Irak, the Russian troops spend 20 units to conquer Iraq whereas I was close to leningrad/Moscow but when I took Stalingrad, they focused on defending the caucas , they did great because in july 44 I am still fighting in Grozny.
Finland never joined the axis (???) I did not want to invets money because I thought "I just have to come close to leningrad and they will join) but no it did not happen.
Counter attacks are still limited

The US made Torch in middle 1942 but Italian units defendded well Tunisia for more than 2 years!!! (5 armies one HQ defending around Tunis)
Allies made a D day too early in july 1943 - they did well to invade but again they did not succeed in "taking benefits" of it : now in Septembre 1944 they just own Brittany
Maybe because this time I put more fighters and AA units to secure.

Sub war is awful!!!! this time I spent money for sub war but very little success

That's true, but only if Finland has a pro-Axis political leaning.

If it was pro-Allied then it won't enter the war. Are you able to confirm if this is the case?

There are Pop Ups set to advise players about Finland earlier in the war, according to whether Finland is pro-Axis or pro-Allied. Do you recall seeing one?

=> you're right, I was thinking "was a silly advice since Finland will naturaly join Axis "

Ok, great, there are a few things that can stop them doing so. Nice western Allies helping them out against the USSR for instance. [:)]

Based on V8 :
I play axis, difficulty normal, expérience +1 to allies, FOW turned down
damned! it is a pretty good game.
Somes changes compared to v7 :
Poland, France, Yougoslavia and greece felt normaly.
research is now more complicated
atlantic war is more fun now (more balanced)
Afrika now is more balanced
Russians are finaly strong in mid 1942! now it is a challenge
So now I fell short on MPP in mid 1942, I regret to have been wasting to much MPP (I invested too much in my allied armies - HQ, improvements new units etc...) I spent too much MPP on subs, on Italian navy and now I am facing some strong couter attacks and I have too little MPP to fully reinforce
