Thinking of buying the game, but wondering about the scenarios.

What is being offered, I mean only large scale engagements or also asymetrical combat and if the latter is included, how is has this been modelled - operations like Plan Dalet?

Also what kind of scenarios are offered after '73?

I'm still debating on buying this or not. I never liked divided ground as I thought the graphics were rather crap and it seems the graphics in this game hasn't changed. I prefer NATO symbols and a war game style map,not the kind which came with divided ground. I'm hoping someone can explain that the graphics have changed and look much better.

I think the graphics are fantastic. Beautiful, natural, map-like. With NATO type symbols. Mind you, I ignore 3d. I'm talking about the 2d maps.

That's a gif - the real thing is clearer, without all the little dots you get when you post a gif in here.

Price of a meal with a few beers. (At least over here in Europe). So worth it for me, easily.

Those views are 2d, various magnifications, various scenarios.

Hope they helped.

The game has three 3D views: Zoom3D25, Zoom3D50 & Zoom3D100.

And four 2D views: Zoom2D25, Zoom2D50, Zoom2D75 & Zoom2D100.

What you see in the previous posts are Zoom2D50 & Zoom2D100.

For screenshots of these and other views, see the After Action Reports.

Here is one of many, many screenshots in those AARs (in this case with the Elevation display toggled ON):

More screenshots in the thread Campaign Series Middle East: Screenshots (1.02).

All that said, a v1.03 update is coming down the pike in several months. Expect still more graphics improvements in the next update, and not a few surprises.

There's quite a few scenarios there with Civilians in play, and with PLO etc present in some scenarios too. Civilians especially make things quite different in the battle field, calling artillery let alone airstrike can now spell disaster.

As for past '73 scenarios, there's quite a few. All stock scenario are listed at the Blitz Wargaming Club Ladder, have a look HERE.

There's several Tournament sets for hypothetical 1980's engagements, look for the Blitz Ladder again with its SEARCH PAGE.

Select:

[*] Ladder: Campaign Series
[*] Game: Campaign Series Middle East 1948-1985

Enter "tourn" into Scenario Title field, as most titles are "Tourny Set ..." this and that.

In addition to those sets, there's the "Duel For Golan" game conversion scenarios, do a similar search as above but put "Golan" as a search string.

Finally, I am about to release a four scenario set called "Crisis in Sirte", a hypothetical with UK Para and Mech formations dueling it with Gaddafi's finest.

1980s is definitively my sweet spot with the game, it is absolutely deadly out there with the more modern weapon set, including ATGM equipped forces everywhere. The modern MBTs are just awesome as well.

Hope this helps. I am biased, of course. [:D]

Here's how 1.03 2D graphics are shaping up to look like, from Sneak Peeks thread. Smoother, ever smoother, is what I try.

Stict EMCON on any details about our coming surprises from me as well. For now [:)]
