Chinese Forces rout a Japanese armored column. The war goes poorly fir the Chinese losses are mounting and supplies grow short.

Well the war with China continues...improved another city. Built a chem factory...sure seems to cost a lot for the amount of fuel you get from it.

War has broken out in Europe...a sad commentary on the hardness of countries to negotiate differences.

Germany Mar. 1939

War! After the Fuehrer gave an impassioned speech about the plight of Germans in occupied Czechoslovakia and Poland, and how enemies, jealous of the Fatherland's rebirth, were attempting to surround Germany with plans to attack, the military acted.

Despite the mud and poor weather, the 6th, 1st, and 2nd Armee's rolled into
Poland under the guidance of Generals Leeb, Rundstedt, and Beck. New lighting fast tactics, backed by artillery and mechanized forces, pushed to the edge of Warsaw on two sides. There was great celebration in the city of Danzig after its 'liberation'.

To the south, the 3rd and 4th Armee's and Hungarian Forces, commanded by Generals Mannstein and Kluge, and under the umbrella of a vast air force, crushed Czechoslovakia, took both the industrial center of Brataslavi and the capital Prague, leaving the remainder of the Czech forces stranded in the mountain.

The Mediterranean theater saw far less spectacular results. The Gibraltar fortress shrugged off both the German air and artillery attacks with very little notice.

Italy Mar. 1939

Mussolini seeing wisdom in Germany's righteous cause erected a massive industrial center to supply his forces for war, and then joined in on attacks against Gibraltar as well. Massed bombers and artillery saw substantial results, but the resolute British Forces held their ground in the ruins of the near destroyed fortress.

Japan makes some city improvements and continues it's war with China...some small advances and lots of losses...

Germany Apr. 1939

Amid the rumble to tanks and troops from three sides, Polish citizens watched helplessly from shattered buildings as German troops occupied Warsaw. The victory crushed the bulk of the remaining Polish army, leaving the German forces now in mop up duty.

From the mountains in Turkey there were several probing attacks with reconnaissance in force into the Middle East.

In the Mediterranean, a fleet of French vessels and subs were caught and destroyed by Seawolves off the coast of Spain.

Artillery bombardments from French territories have taken their toll, despite German air superiority. Concern off the situation is growing.

Italy Apr. 1939

After a second month of air and artillery bombardment, General Alfredo Guzzoni directed the assault on the fortified port of Gibraltar. The brutal siege lasted nearly a month, but by the end of March, full control of Gibraltar was in Italian hands, thereby locking off all ally access to the Mediterranean from the west. Hailed as a hero, Guzzoni drew great praise from Mussolini for following El Duce's battle plan without flaw.

Soviet Union Spring 1939

Some Alarm in the Kremlin as Germany carves a swath across central Europe, and advances into the middle east, current thinking is let the capitalist dogs tear each other apart. But there is concern that the dog that emerges from the fight may feel emboldened to take on the Bear.

Thanks brother for the compliment. No app I can think of, although there might be. I should have used Adobi illustrator, but I flim-flammed it with Photoshop and the custom shape tool. Illustrator would make it easy as pie though.

Germany May. 1939

Supposedly impenetrable, the Maginot Line was not only breached, but two fortification beyond destroyed, leaving the underbelly of France exposed. General Mannstein now has two feathers in his cap as he is poised to take Paris.

In the Middle East, Generals Erwin Von Witzleben and Gustav Von Wietersheim have taken the oil fields of Mobul, and after the largest tank battle of the war, the city of Beirut fell into German hands, mostly due to air superiortiy.

But the British have dealt much damage in return as the shipyards north of Hamburg lay in near total ruins. Hitler has sworn that new technologies will end the constant aerial bombardment.

German casualties are beginning to mount and has begun to cause concern among the citizenry that this will be more than the 'short war' that was promised.

Italy May. 1939

Italy too has had much success. After the defeat of British armor outside of Tobruk, they used their air superiority and massed artillery to take Casablanca. This coupled with gaining political and military control over Yugoslavia, mean the Italian empire now has full access to the Atlantic and a clear path to the Middle East.

Japan continues war with China...lots of losses and some changes in front lines...but more than previous month.
Japan deploys new heavy artillery (artillery III) units in China. We also introduce two new aircraft--new dive-bomber and updated fighter.

Another annex is built...but no general improvement.

Japan captures Wuhan (I think that is the right name) in central China...this major coal field will help supply the Army. Other small advances continue. Heavy and other artillery is the main reason these advances were possible. Massive air attacks also helped to make the advances possible. No annexes were possible because I had to use the PP to advance technology.

I spent 200 PP to improve allies production but saw no change...hopefully this will take effect next turn. Two hundred PP is a lot for the Japanese. As I have to stop production of EVERYTHING else to get to that amount in TWO turns. Supply production from recently captured coal mine is beginning to be felt.

Otherwise some small successes in China but lots of loses. Artillery barrages seem to be the only way to advance against the Chinese--so I am building LOTS of artillery.

Allies production increased from 1000 per PP to 666 per PP. You can decide for yourself if it is worth the 200 PP to make that possible. All production is improved by the same percentage. A 4000 production point city now produces 6 PP instead of 4.

Japanese Chinese and Shanghai Commands have met cutting off Tsingtao from the rest of China. This is a important accomplishment in our war with China. Meanwhile we also managed to introduce a new fighter (last month) and a new medium tank to our forces. As well as finishing the last annex to the cities in Japan. We are going to have to reduce our tech advances in order to produce more troops.

Still have a major supply problem but my fuel problem is better resolved.

Depends entirely on the situation. Do you have a lot of non-own peopled locations, or not. If you have few, you really shouldn't, and if you have many, you might want to consider. It's not like you are unaware of these criteria before hand. The research even tells you what it does.
